The senior associate project manager in the Detroit Metropolitan area involves tasks in all phases of construction projects, including procurement documents, contract specifications, construction plans, construction document review, schedule and cost control, and change orders. The qualified candidate will interact daily with various stakeholders (e.g., owners, designers, contractors, and suppliers) to influence the project toward efficient execution and completion.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in engineering, construction management, or related field required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in the construction industry required.
  • Water/Wastewater project experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience in collaborating on project issues and working independently with minimal direction required.
  • Experience with reviewing and writing construction specifications required.
  • Experience with developing construction procurement documents required.
  • Hands-on scheduling experience with Oracle Primavera P6 required.
  • Experience with presenting work product and facilitating work sessions required.
  • Prior experience with construction submittals and RFI processes preferred.

Additional Requirements

 

Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.

 

Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
