Senior Project Manager (Technical background)

We are looking for passionate Senior Project Manager to join our team and work for various large-scale IT systems for a European Commission project.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Project Manager will include: 

• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders;
• Initiate and oversee the project change management process;
• Oversee the implementation and transition to operations of new systems, upgrades, or evolutions, ensuring alignment with project requirements and ITIL best practices;
• Manage project documentation, including project charters, status reports, and meeting minutes;
• Leverage technical expertise to guide project teams and make informed decisions on technical matters;
• Collaborate closely with architecture and development teams to ensure technical feasibility and optimal implementation of project requirements;
• Develop release plans and schedules, coordinating release activities with stakeholders and IT teams;
• Collaborate with internal and external IT teams to achieve project objectives;
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to support ongoing maintenance and support;
• Maintain overall responsibility for the execution of the contracts;
• Manage the design, development and implementation of software systems, including interoperability components, as per user-defined requirements;
• Ensure that the security policies, ITSM processes, and ITIL practices are aligned with client processes and followed by the project team, and;
• Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy. 

• University degree in a related field;
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in IT projects;
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Project Management of complex technical projects, including software construction and system integration;
• Proficiency in technical project management tools and methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or DevSecOps;
• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development, system architecture, or related technical fields;
• Extensive experience in ITSM processes and practical application of ITIL framework in project management;
• Relevant certifications in internationally recognized project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PM2, PRINCE2);
• Experience in working with Jira and Confluence;
• Knowledge of web technologies and standards (e.g. HTML/CSS, JSON, XML);
• Strong technical skills and thorough understanding of software development processes and technologies;
• ITIL v3 or V4 certification is a plus;
• Cloud system knowledge (AWS, Azure) is a plus;
• Experience in managing transition to operations for large-scale IT systems is a plus;
• Experience with Datawarehouse and AI and data analytics project implementation is a plus, and;
• Fluency in English, French language knowledge is an advantage.
