Job Description

As a Senior Project Manager in Sediment Management and Dredging, you will play a central role in planning, coordinating and implementing projects related to sediment characterization and management, in connection with dredging operations or site restoration.

You will be at the forefront of minimizing environmental impacts and managing natural resources efficiently, and also interacting with various clients, whether on internal multidisciplinary projects or with CIMA+’s external clients.

You will ensure complete project management, from initial assessment to final report, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and contributing to the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan and supervise sediment characterization, dredging and site restoration projects, including defining objectives, planning resources, budgets and schedules.
  • Conduct environmental assessments based on sediment characteristics, including contamination analysis
  • Supervise all stages of sediment management and dredging and restoration operations in compliance with local, provincial and federal environmental regulations where applicable
  • Supervise on-site dredging operations to ensure safety, efficiency and compliance with best environmental practices, following protocols optimized during previous rehabilitation and dredging preparation projects.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, including sources of contamination in aquatic sites, by implementing rigorous safety and protection measures.
  • Contribute to the design of bank protection works and terrestrial structures
  • Facilitate communication with internal teams, stakeholders, authorities involved and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution and clear communication on project objectives, timelines and progress.

Qualifications

  • University degree in environmental science or engineering, biology, civil engineering, geosciences, geology or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in water and marine projects, including the management of contaminated sediments.
  • Good understanding of sediment analysis, dredging processes, sampling techniques, and therefore the related provincial and federal guides (experience in remediating contaminated sediments is an asset).
  • Knowledge of environmental standards and health and safety regulations related to these types of projects
  • Fluency in spoken and written French: excellent writing skills in French
  • Completed training in health and safety on construction sites (ASP Construction Card)
  • Agility to evolve in multidisciplinary projects
