The Morningstar Creative Services Team is looking for a Senior Project Manager to bring their experience to grow complex global initiatives that will scale our integrated, cross-channel creative work. In this role, you'll build an efficient process in alignment with cross-functional partners.
This person will manage workflows on marketing campaigns, website updates, brand content, video stories, events, email programs and social media while helping protect quality standards of our brand. The right candidate will enjoy and thrive in working in a fast-paced environment but be able to effectively build structure.
To foster continuous collaboration, we follow a hybrid policy of at least 3 days onsite in our Chicago office.

Job Responsibilities:
Process and Delivery Management

  • Refine current project management methods into a system of repeatable processes that that will become the standard procedure for organizing and managing projects across the marketing organization
  • Present complex project management strategies with strong rationale to cross-functional teams, while open to feedback and know how and when to defend program management choices
  • Own the design, development, implementation, and governance of these processes
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Creative Services, Performance Marketing, Web/Digital Strategy and Marketing Operations to ensure seamless project execution
  • Execute and optimize both standard and agile project management processes to ensure timely and effective delivery of marketing requests across multiple business lines
  • Facilitate alignment among cross-functional teams, ensure clear communication of project goals, timelines and expectation to all stakeholders
  • Continuously monitor project performance, identify challenges, risks and implement solutions to keep initiatives on track and aligned with company goals
  • Foster a culture of accountability and proactive problem solving within the Central Marketing and Creative Services teams, driving results that support overall marketing objectives
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate risks, and balance business needs versus creative decisions
  • Constantly improve and provide documentation of existing processes, workflows, Asana project management tracking and reporting for our team and our stakeholders


Project Dedication

  • Frame and scope the problem statement to create project charter, build requirements, manageschedule and milestones, enable resourcing, work with cross-functional stakeholders (includingleadership), identify dependencies, reduce risks and drive the initiative progress on a weeklybasis
  • Assist with managing project budget, including reforecasting the budget
  • Lead resourcing solutions that align with everyday project deliverables and near- and long-term roadmaps
  • Drive communications strategy for the initiatives, qualitative and quantitative analysis of the program performance and track/ensure program and industry impact
  • Explore new strategic opportunities, during project management to inform the future roadmap, for leadership consideration
  • Support the team to develop and manage end-to-end projects and ensure outcomes and successful delivery
  • Lead project status meetings and clearly communicate updates to stakeholders and executives, ensuring transparency and alignment on progress, risks and next steps across the organization


Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in consulting, marketing strategy, or equivalent project management or delivery management experience
  • 3+ years of experience working with large-scale marketing programs and campaigns including operations and process improvements
  • Experience working with outside agencies, outsourcing, and management of budget and contracts
  • Impeccable business judgment, along with a natural inclination to formulate hypotheses, design tests, and use problem-solving techniques to evaluate solutions
  • Leadership skills in influencing and managing change
  • Strength in cross-functional collaboration with demonstrated expertise in driving complex highly ambiguous programs with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience facilitating brainstorming sessions to gather project briefings and requirements
  • The ability to communicate clearly at all levels
  • You have experience and strong instinct for working with creative teams, including time needed for execution, removal of barriers before they arise and expectation setting with stakeholders
  • Ability to listen and anticipate the needs, concerns, and input from multiple teams to solve creative problems
  • Self-starter with ability to coordinate multiple large and small projects in a fast-paced, virtual environment managing multiple stakeholders, projects, and priorities
  • Experience working with large global brands that demonstrate scale is a plus
  • Have an enthusiastic and engaging presentation style and visual communication skills to present design solutions to project teams and stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge PowerPoint, Word and various project management software platforms
  • Expertise configuring, tracking and leading projects inside Asana or other project management technologies
  • Ability to understand various content management systems and process improvement methodologies such as Agile
  • Certification as a PMP and/or deep experience in governance, program management operational excellence
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Base Salary Compensation Range
$80,457.00 - 136,761.00 USD Annual
Total Cash Compensation Range
$92,525.00 - 157,275.00 USD Annual
