The Sr PO tells the story of the product(s) they support in a way that helps sell its mission and function to key stakeholders, while ensuring that developers have a clear direction on the features and functionality they need to implement. They have a strong understanding of the strategy for their product(s) and contribute towards the building of the product’s roadmap(s). They understand and define the performance metrics and key predictors that continuously ensure the success of the product. The Sr PO works cross-functionally with other teams in the company to find more opportunities for automation and innovation. They help mentor other team members in the development of their technical and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience with all Product Owner responsibilities +
  • Clearly understand the industry and industry trends that drive the building of the roadmap of their product(s)
  • Writes the business case to define the opportunities for the business
  • Owns a workstream and the business value creation associated with it
  • Paints the picture of where we can take the products/services inside their workstream
  • Form user groups that can provide feedback related to the performance and features of their product(s)
  • Stimulate and encourage innovation conversations across product and development teams
  • Work closely with the User Experience team to map out workflows and determine areas of waste/opportunity to automate
  • Understand how to measure and drive business value, work with data teams to define metrics and ensure KPIs and reports on the performance and usability of their product(s) is available
  • Provide timely updates to management and teams on all initiatives in progress
  • Other duties assigned by supervisory personnel

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related discipline or equivalent experience is required
  • Master’s Degree is preferred
  • 7+ years previous experience in a Product Owner or similar role is required
  • Previous transportation experience is desired
  • Strong leadership and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and very strong attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to make decisions and priority calls based on currently available information
  • Ability to successfully work in teams and good conflict resolution skills
  • Positive attitude, innovation and goal-oriented mindset
  • Strong knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office and other role-specific tools
  • Ability to run data queries to produce product related KPI reporting and metrics
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to constantly changing industry and company requirements
  • Ability to learn and understand technical concepts and tools necessary for their specific job duties
  • Time management skills and proven ability to work on time-sensitive deliverables.
  • Oral and written communication skills are critical.
