Background
Media Product is a technical and horizontally aligned Product Management domain that enables the backbone of Disney's Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) media ecosystem including acquisition, media processing, video player, and operational tools.
We are seeking a Product Manager to join our Metadata Management team. This domain supports authoritative content metadata, artwork, and its distribution to downstream services within our media platform and DTC browse and experience functions. This role will focus on the sourcing (acquisition or generation), metadata, taxonomy, and data model for imagery in our content platform to meet the needs of our DTC entertainment and sports products worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the vision and product strategy for content artwork and images within our media platform.
- Own end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch and iteration.
- Develop and maintain a clear roadmap in collaboration with partners in Engineering, Operations, and Product management.
- Define product specifications, create user stories, and work with engineering teams to ensure successful development, testing, and release.
- Track KPIs and incorporate measures into the strategy to continuously optimize the product and make data-driven decisions.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of product management or relevant experience required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data-driven insights to inform product decisions, measure performance, and optimize the user experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to drive product initiatives from concept to delivery.
- Ability to work with engineering teams to discuss technical concepts, make tradeoffs to remove roadblocks, operate a successful delivery cadence, and evaluate new ideas.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of media supply chain concepts and operational workflows.
- Familiarity with content metadata taxonomy and constructs: entities, availabilities, media assets.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY and Seattle, WA is $159,500 to $213,900 per year, in Los Angeles, CA is $152,200 to $204,1000 per year, and in San Francisco, CA is $166,800 to $223,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
