We maintain the legendary, award-winning culture 1-800 Contacts started almost 30 years ago and continue to develop innovative, pioneering products and businesses that make consumers cheer and optometrists squirm. We’re owned by KKR – one of the world’s largest and most successful private equity investment companies. We’ve built an excellent company and changed an industry by putting the customer first, always. The best is yet to come!

Why you want this job

As a Senior Product Manager you will lead the development of advanced, data-driven products that sit at the intersection of cutting-edge algorithms, machine learning, and exceptional user experience. In this role, you’ll be responsible for defining and executing the product vision for technically complex features while ensuring a seamless, intuitive experience for our users.

You’ll work closely with data scientists, engineers, designers, and stakeholders to bring innovative capabilities to life—balancing the nuances of deep technical implementation with a relentless focus on solving real customer problems.

What you’ll do

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for complex and algorithm-heavy features, aligning them with broader company goals and customer needs.
  • Collaborate deeply with cross-functional teams—including engineering, data science, UX design, marketing, and customer success—to define, build, and launch impactful product experiences.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, customer-facing solutions that drive business value.
  • Lead discovery and validation efforts with customers and end users to ensure solutions address real-world pain points and deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Partner with UX to create experiences that make advanced capabilities intuitive and accessible, regardless of user technical proficiency.
  • Define and track product metrics, using qualitative and quantitative data to iterate and improve.
  • Serve as the internal voice of the customer while also being a trusted thought partner for technical teams.
  • Champion technical innovation while ensuring alignment with usability, performance, and scalability needs.

What you'll need

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years working on technically complex products (e.g., machine learning, data platforms, APIs, analytics tools).
  • Proven ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and customers, translating insights into action.
  • Strong technical literacy—you don’t need to code, but you should be comfortable discussing algorithms, model performance, data structures, and API behaviors with engineers and data scientists.
  • A deep understanding of product discovery and user-centered design, with the ability to craft compelling user journeys even in complex domains.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient using data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, and persuasive across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Figma, Tableau, etc

Perks

  • Free eye exams for your entire family
  • Deep discounts on lenses, glasses, and other services
  • Amazing healthcare coverage
  • 401(k) match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Tuition reimbursement program
  • In-house restaurant with highly discounted meals
  • Free snacks, ice cream, and drinks every day
  • Full onsite gym

What We Do

Making vision care simple, accessible, and affordable

We put our people first. Before our customers. Before the business. Unconventional? You bet it is. Our cofounders understood if we take care of our people, the rest takes care of itself. Here, that means frontline empowerment, parental bonding time, free mental health resources, development opportunities, and more.

We’re a company that aims big, fails fast, and cheers on one another while we continue to push the entire vision industry forward.

As workstyle needs have changed, we’ve listened and adapted. We’re recognized as a great place to work by companies like Forbes and Fortune 100 and attribute this to our people, culture, and the work we are doing. Looking to join a team that’s passionate about pursuing a better way in vision care?
