Intro and job overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead our data governance software portfolio. In this role, you will drive the strategy based upon market trends and research, customer interviews and feedback and analyst engagement. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, UX, marketing and sales to deliver solutions that address the complexities of data governance. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of data governance and data management practices, a passion for solving complex problems, and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade software. You will become the subject matter expert (SME) on the product portfolio and play a key role in supporting sales opportunities and product development.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Define and drive the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for our data governance software, aligning with business goals and customer needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including engineering, UX, marketing, and sales to prioritize features and ensure successful product delivery.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and user interviews to identify trends, opportunities, and pain points in the data governance industry.
- Translate customer requirements and feedback into functional requirements, business requirements and use cases.
- Monitor product performance using key metrics and analytics, driving continuous improvement and iteration.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance, including compliance, privacy, and data management best practices.
- Communicate product vision and progress to internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Partner with marketing and sales teams to create compelling product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
- Work closely with Product Owners to elaborate on requirements definition and validation.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to inform product decisions.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- You have previous experience in an enterprise software product management role.
- You have experience in enterprise software technologies and implementation.
- You have experience in the Data Governance and/or Data Catalog industry.
- You have the desire to be technology curious; keep up in reasonably technical conversations.
- You have outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills with the ability to present to large and small audiences.
- Additional experience in the data quality, master data management (MDM) or data integration industries is a plus.
- Experience with SaaS software delivery is a plus.
- Travel is required: Approximately 10%.
