The Senior Product Manager, Product Innovation is responsible for bringing Beckman’s product vision to life for new product development by translating customer needs into prioritized innovation roadmaps and staffing the core teams, bringing the products to market.  This position is part of the Immunoassay Product & Program management organization.   This role is intended to be an onsite role located near our Chaska, Minnesota Center of Excellence for Immunoassay.  Qualified candidates not located near Chaska will be considered and the role may be filled as a remote role.  You will report to the Vice President, Immunoassay Innovation, Product & Program Management.  At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Establish leadership in cross-functional NPD core teams and ensure adherence to market and product requirements from pre-concept tollgate and through product development cycle.
  • Gather and represent the voice of customer and voice of business on NPD core teams and lead market discussions at monthly Product Planning Group (PPG) meetings to assess and manage risk and tradeoffs.
  • Perform market and customer insight research to deeply understand customer needs, challenges and translate these together with a cross-functional team into diagnostic solutions
  • Co-develop and present business cases for New Product Development (NPD) by developing the file and driving process, defining market requirements and writing product definitions.
  • Contribute to rationalized roadmap creation and maintenance, Incremental Pipeline Value (IPV,) and Innovation Growth Equation metrics aligned with Strategic Plan.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of related work experience in Product Management / Marketing OR Master’s degree in field with 12+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral Degree in field with 9+ years of work experience
  • Demonstrated experience of translating customer needs into product requirements and ensuring product designs meet customer needs.
  • Experience in developing and presenting business cases to top management and leadership
  • Role requires frequent travel of up to 20% and may include some international travel

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Knowledge of the Immunoassay diagnostic testing and instrumentation marketplace is highly desired
  • Strategic marketing and/or product management experience is preferred
  • Communicates effectively and strong team player/collaborator with various internal constituents, customers and other stakeholders
