What is the opportunity?
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the RBC Data Strategy, building on leading-edge technologies, innovative data services and multidisciplinary initiatives. As a Senior Product Manager, you will be part of a product-focused transformation community, working with the Personal Banking & Commercial Banking Data Engineering team to support agile delivery and Risk & Compliance as we build exciting new big data, ML and AI solutions. These high priority activities are focused on enhancing operational efficiency and risk management through automation, reporting and are pivotal to optimizing processes and ensuring regulatory compliance.
What will you do?

Facilitates joint planning with the DataOps team in the early stages of project initiation and planning phases

Develops integrated baseline project plans applying estimated models; documents estimating assumptions, refines plans and manages performance against them

Determines quality standards and oversees the execution / production of management documents

Pro-actively and immediately identifies all risks related to project schedule/dependencies and recommends mitigation strategies

Raises and tracks issues and conflicts, removes barriers, resolves minor project issues and escalates them to immediate manager when required

Monitor the applicable processes and procedures to meet dynamic internal security standards, policies and external regulations and audits
-
Collaborate with the Business Office team and Product Managers to develop content related to privacy, model risk, project risk and remediation.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:

Excellent technical understanding of data and AI technologies, control services and objectives
-
Deep understanding of regulatory compliance management, internal and external audit processes and framework
-
Experience with modern enterprise software development
-
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and illustrate the business value we provide to our stakeholders and enterprise
-
Commitment to learn, especially on technical details of technologies
-
Ability to understand business needs and propose viable solutions that address them, regardless of whether or not the solutions are technical in nature
-
Familiar with common agile development methodologies like Scrum and Kanban
Nice-to-have:
-
Agile Product Owner or Product Management experience
-
Working experience in a technology or banking-related field
-
Experience working with sensitive data in a regulated industry
-
Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, Mural and/Lucidchart
-
Technical knowledge and experience with Python, Spark, SQL or SAS
-
Experience with enterprise architecture principles
