Description
As the design lead for Uncrewed and Advanced Aviation, you will shape the user experience for next-generation aviation infrastructure tools, empowering global adoption of uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) and advanced aerial mobility (AAM). In this role, you will collaborate closely with Air Navigation Service Providers worldwide to ensure they are prepared for the demands of emerging technologies, redefining how aviation data is created and consumed.
Responsibilities
In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to define product strategy and shape foundational products
  • Independently lead design efforts across multiple products, setting a high standard for design quality
  • Navigate ambiguity, balance tradeoffs, and influence others to create ideal outcomes for the business and user
  • Produce high-quality design artifacts that evolve from focused thought around a problem, including but not limited to sketches, wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity UI mockups, and clickable prototypes
  • Identify design tasks necessary to move a project forward
  • Communicate your plan and drive initiatives to answer the pressing questions in the project
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct user research and usability testing with users to validate design and product decisions
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure high-quality dev handoffs and final user experience meet expectations and delight customers
  • Help improve and maintain our design system along with other product designers
  • Solicit feedback often from team members and stakeholders and participate in design critiques with design team members
  • Contribute to design team culture and processes and provide mentorship for other designers
  • Actively participate in a remote team/environment, partnering with stakeholders across time zones


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience designing and shipping digital products
  • A strong portfolio that not only shows your work's end result but also how you think and communicate
  • An excellent communicator, written, verbal, and listening
  • Create organized presentations that are simple and effective at communicating intent
  • Highly collaborative and look to include others to uncover a deeper understanding of the problem and solution space
  • Enjoy solving difficult problems with a user-centered approach
  • Experience working on complex digital products and use cases
  • Experience with user research, including customer interviews and validating products through moderated usability testing
  • Proficient in Figma (Our preferred design tool)
  • Experience working with 3D interaction patterns, and with geographic information systems (GIS)
  • Aviation background preferred but not required; an eagerness to learn and engage with the aviation industry is essential

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $100,000 - $150,000.
