The Product and Pricing Analyst role is responsible for executing strategic product and pricing initiatives under the leadership of the Product and Pricing Manager. The role supports the completion of underwriting filings and maintenance of product and pricing manuals and policy language (e.g., wordings). They conduct consumer research to understand the needs of consumers for product development initiatives and act as a subject matter expert for any system enhancements. They work with the Data & Analytics partners to monitor the performance of the portfolio against the operational plan and report findings to the Product and Pricing Manager to inform strategic product and pricing initiatives. They support the preparation and delivery of stakeholder communications and work closely with the actuarial team for pricing selections and support the technology team for system improvements.
What will you do?
- Monitor the existing product portfolio to ensure alignment with business strategy, goals, and objectives.
- Conduct portfolio management of existing products with the Data & Analytics partners and Product and Pricing Managers.
- Perform analyses using MS Excel and other third-party software.
- Assist with the completion of underwriting filings with regulatory bodies as required.
- Develop and maintain forms and policy wordings for associated products.
- Review competitive positioning on rates, rules, products, and coverage.
- Communicate metrics and recommendations to the Product and Pricing Manager to influence strategic direction.
- Research, analyze, and present findings at the subcommittee level.
- Provide subject matter expertise to IT to support underwriting related projects.
- Facilitate system fixes by reviewing defects and enhancements.
- Review regulatory reforms and provide direction to the Product and Pricing Manager.
What will you need to succeed?
- 5 years P&C Insurance Industry Experience
- CIP designation or working towards
- Post-secondary education
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other third-party software
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
Location: We’re a hybrid team that thrives on the energy and value of in-office collaboration. This role offers the best of both worlds, with 2 days a week spent in our vibrant office in Cambridge, Ontario.
