What you will do
The Senior Pricing Analyst at Johnson Controls (JCI) plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's pricing strategies by developing comprehensive pricing models and conducting in-depth research into ratemaking practices. This position is designed for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in both independent and collaborative settings. The Senior Pricing Analyst will engage regularly with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Sales, and Customer Service, to ensure pricing strategies align with market demands and business objectives. Additionally, the Senior Pricing Analyst will act as a mentor and guide to junior pricing analysts, fostering their professional growth and contributing to the overall team's success.

How you will do it

  • Perform advanced quantitative pricing analyses to maximize profitability, drive strategic initiatives, and facilitate continuous improvement across pricing operations.

  • Develop and manage a sophisticated multi-category pricing strategy that aligns with the needs of JCI's diverse customer base and market segments.

  • Identify and analyze key competitors, assess market dynamics, and establish strategic positioning that varies across different product categories.

  • Exhibit exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities to challenge existing business assumptions, creating innovative methods, models, and statistical analyses that inform JCI’s pricing and customer engagement policies.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and a customer-centric approach, synthesizing extensive datasets into clear insights that guide decision-making.

  • Establish scalable, efficient, and user-friendly automated processes for large-scale data analyses, enhancing the efficacy of business processes and strategic decision-making.

  • Conduct thorough analyses of current and prospective pricing models, providing actionable recommendations based on findings.

  • Analyze competitor pricing structures, proposing innovative pricing models and adjustments that enhance JCI’s competitive edge.

  • Monitor and track pricing fluctuations and price changes in relation to commodity and material input variations, ensuring timely adjustments to pricing strategies.

  • Utilize advanced statistical modeling techniques to evaluate the potential effects of various pricing strategies on present and future pricing scenarios.

  • Collaborate closely with sales and marketing departments to craft and execute competitive pricing strategies that respond to market trends and customer needs effectively.

  • Design and implement dynamic pricing tools that allow JCI to swiftly adapt to changing market conditions and customer demands.

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on various aspects of ratemaking, contributing to the creation of cohesive narratives and principles that engage a wide array of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support cross-functional teams in addressing complex issues, utilizing verbal, written, and visual communication skills to present solutions and recommendations clearly and succinctly to leadership.

What we look for

 Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines, with strong foundational knowledge in analytical methodologies.

  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience in a pricing or analytics role, showcasing a track record of success in pricing strategy development.

  • Proficiency in conducting quantitative analyses and developing analytical models, dashboards, data visualizations, and decision-making tools to support strategic initiatives.

  • Strong technical skills in Excel, SAS, R, Python, SQL, and/or Tableau, with the ability to leverage these tools for data analysis and visualization.

  • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex data, research, and analyses into simple, concise, and actionable insights that drive business decisions.

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, enabling effective collaboration with peers, management, and other key stakeholders across the organization.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or other quantitative related fields, with a strong emphasis on advanced analytical techniques and strategic pricing
