Digital Cloak is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our team and assist in evaluating and modernizing our customer's network infrastructure. The Platform Engineer will have a deep understanding of the Microsoft Ecosystem (active directory, Azure services, etc.) and virtual infrastructure (VMware, Oracle, Java, etc.), and will work with other IT professionals (cybersecurity engineers, network engineers, etc.) to plan and modernize a large Government network. This is largely a planning and advisory role, and does not require the employee to provide emergency response on nights or weekends. We are looking for a professional who enjoys tackling technical challenges, working collaboratively, and leading cybersecurity initiatives.

Essential Functions
- Advise on and implement modernization efforts for a large Government network.
- Provide expert recommendations based in a thorough understanding of Microsoft environments.
- Work with a team to design state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products while ensuring overall network effectiveness and functionality.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and Microsoft best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and network engineering staff to design for optimal network performance.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Deep understanding of (network and cloud) Microsoft environments.
- Solid understanding of Linux environments and virtual infrastructure.
- Extensive experience with network modernization efforts.
- Understanding of coming Microsoft changes that will affect future network environments (the next decade).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Required Education, Certifications / Licenses, Related Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 7 years of demonstrated experience with systems engineering in a Microsoft environment.
- Relevant certifications from Microsoft.
Preferred Education, Certifications / Licenses, Related Experience
- Experience working with and providing advisory services to senior Government personnel.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- 3-4 years of demonstrated experience with Linux and virtual environments.
Physical Job Requirements
- This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time.
- This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors.
Clearance Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Current active DoD SECRET clearance is required.
Primary Work Location(s)
- This is a hybrid position. On-site work will be performed at the customer's facility in Stafford, VA. Employee must live within a 45 minute drive of customer's facility.
Travel Requirements
- This position has travel requirements up to 10%.
