About the Role 

Roku, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated, experienced paralegal in support of Roku's growing advertising business. The paralegal will be a member of the Legal Ad Sales & Partnerships (“LAP”) team under the Legal & Business Affairs organization.  LAP consists of a team of attorneys who advise and support various ads focused teams within Roku by negotiating and advising on media buying and IOs, custom content/branded content sponsorships, publisher ad relationships, innovative ad technology products and advanced digital / programmatic advertising.   

The paralegal will be responsible for reviewing and updating contract forms in accordance with Roku's guidelines and policies; and managing the contracts process, including tracking the status of contracts from intake to execution and working with Ad Contract Solutions and Policy. 


For California Only and New York - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $106,0000 - $127,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What you'll be doing 

  • Act as the first legal point of contact for the advertising commercial teams regarding required legal language on insertion orders, inventory purchases, vendor agreements (including master services agreements) and NDAs 
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts under the direction of attorneys, including adding standard terms for approvals in compliance with company policies and procedures 
  • Maintain playbooks, policies, guidelines, and contract templates for the advertising team, and support continuous improvements of legal forms, policies and processes 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with a wide variety of Roku business units, including the advertising, corporate legal, content & services, finance, and tax teams 
  • Work closely with Ad Contracts Solutions and Policy to address questions and clarify legal requirements 
  • Help develop scalable processes, including assisting with the management and administration of Roku's contracts and policies, with an emphasis on scaling support to assist with Roku's rapid growth 
  • Work on special projects with attorneys supporting Roku's business, including privacy counsel and product counsel 
  • Partner with attorneys to improve the legal review process and automate where possible 
  • Provide administrative support to the VP of Business & Legal Affairs as needed 

We're excited if you have 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal or similar function, preferably within digital advertising, media company, or ad agency 
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required 
  • Experience negotiating commercial contracts in the advertising space, including insertion orders, IAB terms, NDAs, and master services agreements 
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, DocuSign, Ironclad, Confluence, and Terra True 
  • Experience working in a cross-department, cross-functional role requiring good client skills, including the ability to independently solicit the advice and input of different stakeholders as appropriate 
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, utilizing effective organizational skills to prioritize and manage deadlines for multiple simultaneous projects for multiple stakeholders 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
