Amentum is now hiring for a Senior Operations Manager in support of the Field, Lab and Air Integration / Experimentation / Modeling and Risk Reduction office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and other locations. This project will provide the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Research (C5ISR) Center services to include programmatic/business management services, engineering support services, field engineering, laboratory, logistics, and acquisition / administrative support services to augment FLAIR core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of FLAIR and its associated Managers and customers. This support will be conducted in close coordination with Government project leads within FLAIR.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate computer operations activity to ensure rapid, accurate, and efficient operation of organization's computer system.

Plan and develop policies and procedures for carrying out computer operations.

Devise systems capability that reflects the highest state of technical sophistication consistent with the corporation's needs and budget.

Meet with subordinates to discuss progress of work, resolve problems, and ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are met.

Create staff capable of meeting current and future needs, adjusting hours of work, priorities, and staff assignments to ensure efficient operation, based on workload.

Review daily logs and reports to detect recurring slowdowns or errors.
-
Consult with software and hardware vendors to solve computer processing problems.
-
Meet with users to determine quality of service and identify needs.
-
Ensure organization makes maximum use of the general system by providing for the education and training of the principal users.

Meet with data processing managers to determine impact of proposed changes in hardware or software on computer operations and service to users.
-
Evaluate new software and hardware to determine usefulness and compatibility with existing software and hardware.

Evaluate proposed data processing projects to assess adequacy of existing hardware and recommend purchase of equipment.

Develop budget and monitors expenditures.

May direct and coordinate activities of tape library.

Manage activities of an organization's non-manufacturing operations department. Assist in evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures.

Recommend changes when necessary and assists in implementation of new processes.

Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Required Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree.

Must have 9 years of experience. Will accept 5 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.

Must have an Active TOP SECRET/SCI US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting C5ISR DEVCOM programs.
