As a Senior Network Engineer at Roblox, you'll play a crucial role in architecting and scaling our global production network to support millions of users worldwide. You'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing cutting-edge network solutions that power one of the world's largest gaming and social platforms.
You Will:
- Lead the architecture and engineering of Roblox's Backbone and Edge Network infrastructure
- Design and implement scalable, future-proof networking solutions across our global infrastructure
- Spearhead the qualification and deployment of new hardware and security enhancements
- Drive automation initiatives with the Network Reliability Systems team to streamline operations
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure network reliability
You Have:
- 6+ years of experience designing and operating large-scale network infrastructure
- Deep expertise in Backbone and Edge Networks (minimum 4 years)
- Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE)
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) and dual-stack (IPv4/IPv6) environments
- Proven experience working with diverse networking hardware in multi-vendor environments
- Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration
- Experience with high-scale, global network architectures
- Strong problem-solving abilities and systematic approach to challenges
- Programming skills in Python, Go, or C/C++ (preferred)
- B.S. or equivalent experience
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$238,520—$289,460 USD
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
