Your Main Objective:
Leidos is looking for a Network Engineer to be responsible for networking, including telephony, VoIP, and videoconferencing (VTC), across the headquarters building and field sites. The role will also be part of the larger Network team responsible for leading projects crafting, implementing, and maintaining our global WAN/LAN network infrastructure. Dynamic, fast-changing and unpredictable defines our information technology team. The successful candidate will be a part of a team that provides support to multiple organizations from a central location, with no travel requirements. This is an exciting position that supports a mission critical program with high visibility and a proven track record.
What Sets You Apart:
The candidate should have experience with support of large-scale efforts to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of data networks. In addition to experience with common network devices (switches, routers, patch panels, etc.), the candidate will also have experience with videoconferencing (VTC) endpoints, core VTC equipment, VoIP implementation, and telephony. Specific products used in this role are Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Meeting Server.
The role requires a polygraph clearance, 10 years of experience as a network engineer in similar programs. Bachelors' degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college is required. Five years of network engineering experience may be substituted for a degree.
This role will be responsible for the following:

Provide assistance in all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks.

Analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.

Monitor network and telecommunications systems performance and respond to anomalies and issues according to defined procedures.

Assist in deployment of VoIP, Video teleconference (VTC), and plain-old telephone systems (POTS).

Interface and communicate with network operations centers of external providers as needed.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP, and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers and printers.

Communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology.

Install and configure new network and telecommunications systems hardware and software.

Create and maintain network telecommunications systems diagrams and configuration documentation..
The candidate must currently possess and maintain one of the following certifications:

Network+ or;
-
CCNA Routing & Switching or;
-
CCNA Security or;
-
CCNA Video or;
-
any such equivalent as approved

Must obtain certification prior to being accepted on contract.
