True Zero Technologies is seeking experienced Senior Network Engineers to join our team. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting customer network infrastructure (i.e., local area network (LAN), wireless network (WLAN) and responding to, detecting, reporting, recording, diagnosing and resolving network issues. You will work closely with the network operations team, system operators, and other IT staff members to manage the operations of the customer network. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the health and security of the customer's critical network infrastructure.
All candidates must possess significant network design, implementation, and administration experience, meet the necessary certification prerequisites, work well in a team environment, and possess (or be willing to possess) a federal security clearance. Candidates with backgrounds supporting federal customers is a plus.
As a TZT consultant, the candidate will receive access to the full knowledge base which is driven by the True Zero community as well as the technical backing of the entire PS team. The candidate will also have access to our internal Slack channel to stay connected with the team as well as the necessary tools to train, demo, test and grow their professional skills.
Qualification Requirements
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) level certification (or similar/equivalent)
- Bachelors degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical discipline preferred
- Experience with Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE)
- Four (4) years of practical experience in a production environment
- Five (5) years or more experience providing network support to a major hospital or medical center (preferred)
- Five (5) years of experience supporting a military production network
- Ten (10) years of experience supporting LAN and WLAN activities
- Experience designing and deploying a wireless network consisting of 1300+ wireless access points (WAPs)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues
- Active federal security clearance or ability to hold a federal security clearance
Position Responsibilities
- Provide complex documentation in the form of SOPs, or network diagrams to depict network infrastructure or traffic flow summaries for specific systems
- Perform advanced WAN/WLAN/LAN troubleshooting tasks and assist less experienced staff as needed
- Perform as the Network team lead on projects that coordinate efforts of other technical personnel
- Suggest and design new WAN/WLAN/LAN solutions as necessary
- Work closely with the WAN/WLAN/LAN Engineers with respect to Network Authentication
- Point to point traffic flows between multiple Layer 3 subnets or Layer 2 VLANs
- Trunk uplinks from switches with VLAN pruning, and ether-channels for increased bandwidth and redundancy
- Switchport configuration to accommodate a variety of network host devices
- Minimize downtime for maintenance and coordinate necessary maintenance in an environment requiring high uptime performance on the network
- Installation of new wireless network equipment, and replacement of failed wireless network equipment to include Wireless Access Points and Wireless LAN Controllers
- Perform software upgrades on network equipment as required for cybersecurity compliance
- Provide power over ethernet (PoE) as needed for network devices such as cameras, wireless access points, and VOIP Phones
- Manage network authentication via 802.1X and authentication systems such as Cisco Identity Service Engine for wired and wireless network hosts
- Perform wireless surveys using tools to identify optimal access point placement, or to detect the source of interference within an existing wireless footprint
- Connect new network hosts to the wireless network as required for major deployments or testing new host devices
