Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time Senior Network and Systems Engineer opportunity available based in Charleston, SC. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance,

ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Designs, plans, and implements server system architecture.
  • Manages virtualized environments.
  • Engaged in quality control procedures to ensure that systems are efficient and operational.
  • Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network and server systems architecture.
  • Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Conducts testing of information systems architecture design and documents test procedures.
  • Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
  • Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network, server and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hypervisors, software’s, automation tools and cloud platform services hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Capable of speaking to and collaborating with a variety of people, such as clients, vendors, management and information technology (IT) staff during the creation and maintenance of a system.
  • May be assigned responsibility for the management of the Cambridge owned systems administration function, including associated staff.

Required QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Security+
  • CCNA
  • VCP-DCV (VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization) Desired
  • CCNP Desired
  • Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) with 8 - 10 yrs. of experience, or a Master's Degree with 6 - 8 yrs. of experience.
  • Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • In some occasions, overnight travel may be required.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Cambridge International Systems complies with Temporary Duty Station (TDY)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) vaccination requirements. If this position requires OCONUS travel (listed above), Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil lists applicable current vaccination requirements by location.

Office setting:

  • Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
  • Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
  • May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
