- Execute the project for plastic exterior component Tool design using UG-NX mold Wizard. Task (new tool design, engineering changes, feasibility activities etc....) on time for production.
- Self-Execution Use standard library models to design tools that meet specific customer/Tycos specifications.
- Able to understand the mold flow results and implement the action points in tool design.
- Participate in the progressive discipline process as required documenting supporting information.
- Design water, boring mill and 3d contour features working collaboratively to ensure other design disciplines and design for manufacture (build/machine) are considered.
- Complete part feasibility studies on upcoming program parts to ensure all aspects are considered for tool design (cooling, steel condition, proper draft etc......).
- Independently conduct internal and external design reviews, document results of meetings and implement agreed upon actions.
- Flexibility to work outside of core hours as required to meet the demands on the engineering department.
- Travel as required for investigational or training purposes.
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abide by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promote safety in the workplace
- Adhere to applicable quality systems of Tyco / customer / Magna Steyr India
- Project based work planning, scheduling and execution
- Quality deliverables of all project within described timeline.
- Ability to interact and handle the open issues directly with the customer.
- Excellent convincing ability
- SAP timesheet tracking on weekly basis
- Resource recruitment (Tech. competency) - conduct the CAD test
- Track the project status and present the same to PM/Mgmt.
- Key Skillsets:
Established sound skills in one or more of the following fields of plastic component Tool Design & development: (exteriors - bumper systems, side claddings etc.)
- Knowledge of automotive design tools (e.g. UG-NX Tool Wizard 3D and 2D)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team orientation and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel abroad & domestic customer places
- More than 7+ to 10 years of total professional experience in Automotive interior/exterior plastic design
- Team leading capabilities (team orientation and organizing skills)
