We are looking for a team player who combines a solid technical background with a practical mindset and hands-on aptitude. Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team is essential, as are strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to efficiently manage project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities will include
- Serve as a technical expert on Linac & microwave projects and as a resource to other related projects at Varian.
- Collaborate and provide expertise to Manufacturing group
- Linac & Microwave system design work
- Provide advisory support to Physics and systems engineering team
- Work with other scientists and engineers to review and solve difficult technical issues.
- Coordinate resources needed to complete a task or project.
- Improve documentation, baseline data and operating and maintenance procedures.
- Provide scope, cost and schedule estimates for research and engineering projects.
Job Requirements
- MS/Ph.D. in Microwave Engineering or similar field
- 15+ years of direct experience in the design, construction, implementation and maintenance of Linacs and high power microwave systems
- Linear accelerator manufacturing experience
- Highly motivated team player who can also work independently
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to interact effectively with experts in multiple disciplines.

The base pay range for this position is
Min $144,300 - Max $259,900
The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
