Job Description

WHAT DOES A SENIOR MEDIA PLANNER DO?

As the ideal candidate, you will have a solid foundation in media planning and buying with a focus on executing media strategies and ensuring seamless campaign delivery. You’ll support the Media Supervisor in developing HCP and/or DTC tactical media plans, providing insights, and assisting in the management of media campaigns from start to finish. You will also collaborate with internal teams, media partners, and clients to ensure alignment and optimization of campaigns across digital and offline media channels.

In this role, you will focus on direct buys across both online (e.g., Digital Direct, OTT/CTV, Audio, Podcasting) and offline/non-digital (e.g., Linear TV, OOH, Print, POC) media channels. You will be responsible for executing the media strategy and ensuring campaigns are launched, optimized, and reporting effectively. Your expertise with tools like Prisma and research platforms will ensure accurate media planning and campaign execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the media planning kick-off, helping ensure media objectives are clear and aligned with client goals.
  • Stay informed about marketplace trends and competitive insights to contribute to planning decisions.
  • Utilize Eversana Intouch’s suite of planning, evaluation, and buying tools for competitive landscape analysis, target digital consumption, and media plan development.
  • Support the development and articulation of media strategies, including media channel mix, budget allocation, and rationale.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to ensure media strategies are aligned across all platforms.
  • Help coordinate the creation and presentation of media strategies and plans to clients.
  • Participate in weekly status meetings and help manage status documents.
  • Assist internal teams (e.g programmatic/paid search/paid social) with the understanding of client needs and deliverables

Buying Responsibilities:

  • Support the RFP process by assisting in ranking proposals and contributing to vendor negotiations and media partner selection.
  • Oversee the day-to-day implementation, optimization, and reconciliation of campaigns, ensuring alignment with client goals.
  • Help manage accurate budget tracking, media buys, and reconciliation to optimize spend across channels.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of media activation documentation, including media campaign setup in Prisma.
  • Guide Junior Planners and other team members in developing accurate traffic sheets and media buys.
  • Coordinate trafficking, manage creative asset delivery, and ensure all assets align with campaign and client requirements (e.g., Creative Asset Trackers, MRD/creative matrix).
  • Ensure successful tracking, optimization, and reporting of all campaigns, collaborating with analytics teams to create insights for monthly and/or quarterly reporting (QBRs).
  • Support billing processes, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Account Management, PMs, Creative, Data Science/Analytics, and subject-matter-expert teams to ensure smooth execution of campaigns.
  • Maintain communication with the direct manager, VP, Group Media Director, and Director on campaign progress and issues.
  • Help mentor junior team members on traffic workbooks and media buys.
  • Contribute to insights and recommendations to support new business development when needed.

Qualifications

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 4+ years of active experience in a media planning and/or buying role (digital is a priority), preferably with an agency.
  • Pharma media experience, touching on diverse conditions, disease states, and audiences (DTC, HCP, Payer) is a plus.
  • Experience with syndicated planning tools (e.g., MRI/Simmons, Vivvix, Pathmatics, Nielsen, Innovid, SRDS) is preferred but not required.
  • Experience managing multiple accounts and campaigns.
  • Experience within Prisma or MediaOcean is required.
  • Familiarity with the total marketing process and the strategic role of media.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • BA/BS degree
  • Strong written, presentation, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, clients, and accounts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Proficiency in media management, billing systems, and competitive/targeting tools.
  • Solid understanding of marketing, advertising, media concepts, and budget requirements.
  • Experience with third-party ad servers.
  • Ability to work cross-channel and integrate digital and offline/non-digital media strategies.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to follow-through and process improvement.
  • Ability to navigate cross-department relationships effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude toward campaign execution and team collaboration.

EVERSANA is committed to providing competitive salaries and benefits for all employees. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $56,000.00 to $83,000.00and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). EVERSANA reserves the right to modify this base salary range at any time
