The mechanical engineer is a fundamental element of all our products. This position will be a core member of the Electro-/Mechanical Engineering Staff reporting directly to the NPD Manager. The successful candidate will perform mechanical engineering design in a professional manner and typically include:
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design and development using 3D CAD software (Creo as preferred but not mandatory).
- Adhere to standards for mechanical engineering best practice.
- Deliver innovative, optimized engineering solutions.
- Deliver design solutions against requirements, within budget and timescales.
- Respectful of others with a high degree of personal integrity.
- Challenge ideas, proposed solutions and people in a constructive, positive manner.
- Carry out 'first-pass' structural analysis to determine if a design is fit for purpose.
- Conceive, design, analyze, optimize, detail, and validate new mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Satisfy all appropriate product requirements (functionality, performance, cost, quality, etc.) and project requirements (timing, budget, etc.) and achieve agreed commitments.
- Ensure design robustness and consistent product quality through engineering diligence and comprehensive validation testing.
- Visit customer locations w/Sales and Product Management to understand customer needs and product concerns firsthand.
- Work cooperatively within a cross-functional team and with other cross-functional stakeholders; communicate regularly up, down, and across the organization.

- Mechanical engineering detailed design - first-hand experience of engineering design, numerical calculations, tolerance studies, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
- Relevant technical experience
- English language fluency (mandatory)
