At Relativity Space, we have two audacious goals: to build the next great commercial launch company with Terran R and to become America's leading force in additive manufacturing innovation. Both contribute to our long-term vision of creating humanity’s industrial base on Mars, paving the way for interplanetary life to expand the possibilities of the human experience. This journey begins right here on Earth – where we design, build, and fly rockets to deliver customer payloads to orbit. Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable rocket, fulfills the growing demand for launch capacity, thanks to our iterative approach that accelerates design, testing, and development while minimizing costs. While our groundbreaking research and development in 3D printing pushes the boundaries of large-scale additive manufacturing.
Your journey with us is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to shape the future of aerospace technology, additive manufacturing, and the human experience alongside a community of passionate, creative individuals. Join us on this extraordinary journey, as we work together to transform our vision into reality.
About the Team:
Supply Chain at Relativity encompasses direct supply management for all Terran-R parts and materials, indirect supply management for the Long Beach site, and materials management. Put simply, we own the value chain from identification of a need to delivery to our internal customer. The Supply Chain team’s vision is to build a best-in-class, responsive, and data-driven supply chain management organization that is a key competitive advantage for Relativity. Supply Chain is currently putting that vision into practice through sourcing long-lead parts, production equipment, and infrastructure projects for Terran R production. We have had numerous accomplishments with high-dollar, impactful projects by collaborating closely with finance, manufacturing, and engineering to deliver excellent value and keep our aggressive Terran R schedule on track.
We're looking for a Sr Material Program Manager, Engine Supply Chain to lead the team responsible for all Planning of supply chain for Relativity’s next generation launch vehicle, Terran-R.
About the Role:
As the Sr Material Program Manager, Engine, you’ll work cross-functionally to accurately capture material demand, maintain real-time visibility into supply sources and levels, and drive material requirements planning to inform procurement strategy and operations. You are the focal point who is directly responsible for the balance of material supply and demand across our entire value chain – i.e., from ideation to lift-off.
For your respective portfolio, you will:
- Partner with Sourcing/Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Integration, Test, and Launch organizations to derive material demand from complex multilevel Bill of Materials (BOMs) and schedules that will drive material requirement plans and priorities across multiple vehicle missions and programs.
- Generate material requirement signals and partner with Sourcing and Procurement personnel to develop and action material acquisition strategies.
- Manage the mission-by-mission ‘Clear to Build’ process, providing accurate and real-time visibility into material supply & demand while ensuring alignment between Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing, Test, and Launch.
- Develop material allocation strategies/models for constrained or at-risk materials based on company priorities and supply conditions.
- Quantify material forecasts that will inform Sourcing’s immediate- and medium-term material acquisition strategies.
- Participate in the development of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and processes within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) that will ultimately increase automation and fidelity of end-to-end planning operations.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain/operations management, economics/finance, or similar.
- 5+ years in a material planning role within a fast-paced manufacturing, supply chain, and/or engineering environment.
- Experience working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to: engineering design, manufacturing, integration, materials and processing, finance, accounting, quality, and executive management.
- Familiarity with Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and requisite inputs (E.g., Material Attributes, Demand, Supply, and MRP Environment Inputs)
- Proficient with enterprise applications (i.e., PLM, ERP, MES) and data analysis applications/tools (i.e., MS Excel, SQL, Tableau).
Nice to haves but not required:
- Masters degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain/operations management, or similar.
- New product development (NPD) or new product introduction (NPI) supply chain experience, preferably within aerospace or frontier technology industries
- Familiarity with Aerospace (or similar industry), Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and design release processes and systems

What We Do
A rocket company at the core, Relativity Space is on a mission to become the next great commercial launch company. Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable launch vehicle, will reliably deliver payloads to orbit on-time and on-budget for customers – meeting the needs of growing demand for space infrastructure. Leveraging the benefits of additive manufacturing to design, test, and iterate at a pace unmatched in the industry, we are changing the way rockets are built and flown.
Our long-term goal is to create humanity’s industrial base on Mars, paving the way for interplanetary life to fundamentally expand the possibilities of the human experience. The first step toward this vision starts here on Earth, by building the next great commercial launch company.
Why Work With Us
For 60 years, aerospace manufacturing has relied on fixed tooling and complex supply chains to slowly build rockets comprised of hundreds of thousands of parts. Leveraging advances in additive manufacturing, Relativity Space is strategically focused on reducing vehicle complexity, cost, and time to market.
