We are looking for a driven, proactive Senior Market Researcher who takes initiative and thrives in an autonomous role. This person will lead research efforts to uncover deep consumer insights that drive high-impact marketing strategies for Rocket Mortgage.


This role isn’t just about gathering data—it’s about translating research into clear, actionable recommendations that enhance messaging, optimize lead generation, and fuel strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and problem-solver who is comfortable owning research projects from start to finish and advocating for insights that improve business performance.

Research & Insights Development

  • Gain a deep understanding of our consumers, becoming the subject matter expert on their motivations, behaviors, and pain points related to homebuying, refinancing, home equity and personal loans.
  • Design and execute a wide range of research methodologies, including but not limited to: User research (interviews, usability testing, surveys, behavioral analytics), Market & competitive analysis, A/B testing and experimentation, Social listening and trend analysis, Secondary research (industry reports, economic trends, and regulatory factors)
  • Identify patterns in consumer behavior, motivations, and decision drivers to inform marketing strategies.
  • Uncover hidden opportunities and market gaps that differentiate Rocket Mortgage from competitors.
  • Uncover pain points in the user journey and recommend UX/UI optimizations that improve engagement and conversion.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to ensure research-driven insights enhance digital experiences, including landing pages and marketing touchpoints.
  • See marketing tests through from concept to completion, ensuring research-driven test ideas are executed, measured, and refined.
  • Analyze test outcomes to better understand how insights translate into high-performing marketing strategies and messaging.

Data Synthesis & Storytelling

  • Distill complex data into clear, actionable insights that copywriters and marketers can directly apply to messaging. 
  • Develop compelling presentations that transform research findings into engaging stories for stakeholders. 
  • Proactively identify key takeaways that will have the greatest impact on conversion, engagement, and lead generation. 
  • Advocate for a data-driven, user-centric approach to marketing. 

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work autonomously while collaborating closely with copywriters, marketers, and business stakeholders to align research with strategic objectives. 
  • Partner with copywriters, marketers, and media strategists to ensure research insights inform ad copy, email content, and messaging strategies, optimizing engagement across different channels. 
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance ad performance, email engagement, and consumer touchpoints. 
  • Present findings in a way that is insightful, persuasive, and actionable for cross-functional teams. 
  • Educate teams on why research-driven insights matter and how to apply them effectively across ads, emails, and other marketing initiatives. 

Leadership & Initiative

  • Take ownership of research projects, from design to execution to impact measurement. 
  • Proactively seek out new research opportunities that align with business priorities and drive results. 
  • Challenge assumptions and advocate for data-backed decision-making. 
  • Manage research partnerships with external vendors and tools when needed. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in market research, user research, or consumer insights in a direct-to-consumer, fintech, or performance-driven environment. 
  • Experience with a variety of research methodologies beyond just surveys and user research. 
  • Strong data synthesis and storytelling skills—able to translate complex research into clear, compelling narratives. 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Proven experience conducting competitive research, A/B testing, and market trend analysis. 
  • A self-starter who is driven, takes initiative, and thrives in an autonomous environment. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Market Research, Business, Sociology, Statistics, or a related field. 
  • Experience in mortgage, financial services, or fintech. 
  • Experience applying consumer insights to content and email strategies is a plus. 
  • Ability to conduct advanced quantitative research and analyze behavioral data. 
  • Experience leading external research vendor partnerships.
