Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join its organization.
Responsibilities:
- Support production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment.
- Spend the majority of time, up to 90%, on shop floor resolving manufacturing related issues.
- Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control, total quality management, systems, manufacturing, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process re-engineering.
- Interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
- Apply basic knowledge of the design of organization's products and technology to solve moderately complex and clearly defined engineering problems.
- Selects the best method or process from among several existing alternatives.
- Develops and writes technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations.
- Deliver technical presentations.
- Perform technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs.
- Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
- Provide input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Apply basic lean/six sigma principals to drive improvements to production processes.
- Interact with employees located at multiple facilities across the country.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor Degree with 4+ years of experience or equivalent education/experience
- Mechanical or Manufacturing background experience
- Understanding of root cause/corrective action/preventive action
- Understanding of welding practices
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience with spray paint processes of military or commercial vehicles and equipment
- Commercial blast room equipment and bead blasting of military or commercial vehicles experience
- Gage and equipment calibration and control ISO 9001-2008 knowledge
- Lean manufacturing experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
