Senior Manager, Technical Accounting
***This is a remote based role with 10% travel to Raleigh, NC***
***Prefer candidates in EST or CST***
Job Summary
This role will be a technical accounting subject matter expert, build and maintain the Company's accounting policies, and address technical accounting issues arising from business transactions or the implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
What you will contribute:
- Assess the financial statement and disclosure impact of complex transactions and draft technical memos to support conclusions reached
- Monitor, assess, and implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the company and partner with stakeholders to analyze the impact
- Lead impairment assessment of investments, goodwill & intangibles and other long-lived assets
- Establish, develop and maintain accounting policies.
- Be a proactive liaison with external auditors to drive timely closure of technical accounting matters
- Be a trusted business partner and advisor to various stakeholders within Accounting, Finance, and other cross-functional teams
- Take initiative for process improvements to scale and optimize the financial reporting process
- Develop and maintain effective internal control over financial reporting, ensuring Sarbanes Oxley requirements are met
- Assist in drafting and reviewing financial statement disclosures for compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements
- Supervise & review the work product of direct reports. applying critical thinking and validating that documentation is complete & accurate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s or Masters’s degree in accounting
- CPA with 8+ years of progressive experience
- Combination of Big 4 and public company experience
- Strong technical accounting research experience
- Proven ability to author detailed accounting memos
- Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills
- Strong to advanced Excel skills
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Travel Requirements
10% travel to Raleigh, NC

Work can be performed in a standard office environment or in a home office setting.
