About the role: 

As the leader of our Supplier Quality Engineering team, you’ll interface with an international team to work alongside our supply base vendors to focus on making the components that ensure that we can build the world’s most advanced autonomous drones arrive on time and at the highest quality.
How you'll make an impact:

  • Define and implement the quality plans, processes, and systems at in our supply chain to ensure quality for suppliers’ delivery of electrical, mechanical and optical components, systems and subsystems
  • Develop supplier quality assessment criteria and perform supplier audit to support supplier selections as well as ensure on-going quality performance
  • Collaborate with product quality managers, factory quality managers, engineering teams to ensure quality gates are identified, developed, and executed at supplier sites
  • Establish testing plans (IQC, IPQC, OQC), methodology (testers, equipment, test protocols), and reliability tests (thermal cycling, environmental, drop test, etc.) to ensure part quality shipping out of supplier’s factories 
  • Create supplier-specific manufacturing processes and quality plans to ensure supply partners have the capabilities in place for high quality production at volume
  • Architect, develop and implement processes and metrics to fabricate, test, and validate complex electromechanical and optical components
  • Define, implement and facilitate real-time, on-going data collection and reporting from suppliers
  • Initiate and drive corrective action on quality problems to ensure that the root cause of failures are identified and resolved

  • Experience managing quality engineering teams
  • Electrical, mechanical, or quality engineering experience in creating high-end, high-volume consumer electronic products (bonus points for startup experience)
  • Significant experience in supply chain quality management
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills as well as the ability to be a positive team member to both colleagues and external partners
  • In-depth knowledge of quality, reliability, supplier management, statistical process controls and auditing techniques

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $163,000.00 - $230,000.00  *. Fundamentally, we believe that equity is the key to long-term financial growth, and we ensure all regular, full-time employees have the opportunity to significantly benefit from the company's success. Regular, full-time employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s group health insurance plans. Regular, full-time employees are eligible to receive the following benefits: Paid vacation time, sick leave, holiday pay and 401K savings plan.
