Senior Manager, Product Management-Client Onboarding
This role is for the AirKey team, part of the Emerging Payments & AirKey group at Capital One. AirKey is a new method of authentication, effectively turning the payment card into a hardware authenticator, that can help reduce fraud and drive customer engagement for banks and other third parties. The AirKey team is focused on building a new commercial business based on this proprietary technology developed and patented by Capital One.
As the Product Manager focused on AirKey commercialization:

  • You will manage the onboarding and production readiness of AirKey clients (issuers and distributors).
  • Your role is relationship focused and includes being the primary lead for all client-facing communications.
  • You will work closely with (internal and external) AirKey sales teams and all horizontal business partners to drive revenue generation by enabling in-market AirKey adoption through effective management for new client accounts including any maintenance requests.
  • You will collect feedback from our commercial partners and prospects, and work closely with AirKey and other teams to optimize product to market fit.
  • You will be responsible for an efficient and effective implementation of new client programs, program add-ons, consulting and coaching of clients and, as needed, providing issue management for clients throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • You will be responsible for assisting and supporting required internal partners (i.e., product, operations, technology, fraud, legal and risk) to facilitate the smooth delivery of products and services within agreed upon delivery dates to the client.
  • You will act as a subject matter expert for the implementations process including: Technology, process flow, escalation pathing, and issue resolution
  • You will work with prospective customers and partners to identify and prioritize use cases for AirKey, and lead the implementation of proof-of-concepts.
  • You will help refine the product roadmap, and work with both internal and external teams to optimize an AirKey architecture that is scalable across a broad spectrum of use cases.

In this role, you'll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in four key areas:
Human Centered

  • You'll lead sourcing and synthesis of customer discovery efforts to understand customer needs to drive the long term vision for your product
  • You'll turn these customer insights into actionable strategies that will define the priorities for your team and rally your stakeholders to your vision


Business Focused

  • You'll own and prioritize the long-term (12-18 months) product roadmap to deliver on business outcomes, working closely with a cross-functional team to ensure that all the right resources are aligned to ensure that and your team will be successful
  • You'll define KPIs for your product and will be responsible for measuring and tracking to those measures, with an eye to adjusting and refining your roadmap as the data dictates


Technology Driven

  • You'll have an end-to-end understanding of your product and how it fits into the larger ecosystem to be able to anticipate impacts from changes in other parts of the business
  • You'll work closely with tech leadership and architecture to understand the tradeoffs of technical decisions and how they impact the ultimately customer experience your team will deliver always looking to ensure you're using the best tool for the job


Transformational Leadership

  • You'll rally your teams and senior stakeholders to your product vision and proactively leverage relationships throughout the ecosystem to align to your vision and influence prioritization across partner teams
  • You'll be responsible for attracting and retaining top talent to your team and mentoring and developing associates on their product career

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in digital or identity product management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in Agile product management
  • 2+ years of experience managing client onboarding and customer success with consumer facing digital or identity products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $193,000 - $220,300 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management
New York, NY: $210,500 - $240,300 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management
Richmond, VA: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
