Job Description

Nordstrom has an exciting opportunity available for a highly motivated, customer obsessed, and results driven Senior Process Training Manager supporting our Supply Chain Operations Process Training and Documentation team. The Process Training and Documentation team plays a critical role within our Supply Chain by focusing on end-user training and providing step-by-step documentation that clearly explains and teaches processes from the perspective of a first-time user. This individual will be focused on driving performance of the training program in their distribution sites and be an active member of the program development and management team within the training organization.  

This role will lead a set of leaders within a region that each support a building and directly manage administrative support and trainers. They will work closely with their site leader, operations team, and human resource partners to drive performance and alignment on all training programs aspects. This will be accomplished through building high performing teams and through the development of world calls training and application techniques.   

 

This individual will be a key architect in program development and management. Developing and driving tracks of work that enrich the training program and building capability to future business needs. They will own books of work hitting delivery dates and supporting network activation plans. They will work collaboratively across the network with cross functional teams to assure alignment and involvement for the necessary stakeholders.  

The ideal candidate is motivated, proactive, and results oriented.  This individual has a strong sense of ownership, sees the big picture, and possess a unique blend of strategic, analytic and collaboration skills with demonstrated experience in taking ideas from vision to execution; blending relationship management, program management, problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive to aligned outcomes This role requires an individual to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, dealing with ambiguity, engaging stakeholders in a productive, positive way and setting the course for the business to help drive growth for Nordstrom 

 

A Day in the Life… 

  • Drive results: Focuses on overcoming obstacles and delivering results through the team. Promotes urgency with leaders to reach goals and meet deadlines. 

  • Develop leaders: Develop leaders by nurturing their ability to inspire and guide others, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. Effective leadership development also emphasizes emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and the capacity to adapt to changing environments. 

  • Program management and development: Actively own books of work contributing to the overall training program. Meet program deadlines while maintaining site results.  

  • Collaborate with senior leaders: Collaborate closely with operations and human resource senior leadership in buildings to maintain a focus on top business objectives and initiatives as well as to escalate key status updates.   

  • Partner across functions: Partner cross functional across Nordstrom to build, enhance, and roll out aligned processes. Including support of initiatives in testing through execution phases. 

  • Stand up key initiatives: Support new ways of working and change management within the organization and subject matter experts to understand the opportunities that specific initiatives are addressing. Generate consensus around recommended approach, tools, and resourcing. Build excitement and momentum across stakeholders and leaders. 

  • Engage with sitesEngage on site with trainers, operation, and support teams to gain insight and drive collaboration. Including, new hire onboard execution, process knowledge gaps, and deep dive all building process for network alignment and identify scalable opportunities.  

  • Guide progress: Ensure milestones and program methods and practices are being met.  Where there are gaps, effectively highlight concerns, impact, and potential solutions.  

  • Analysis & Insights: Analyze performance trends in a building or region to construct actionable counter measures for defects and expand successes where possible. Uphold KPIs through honest dialogue and data driven indicators. 

  • Document Control: Partner on all process documentation controls to ensure all items reflect processes accurately in comprehendible and organized fashion.  

 

 

You own this if you... 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, such as in retail/e-commerce operations (e.g., supply chain, operations, planning), project and/or program management.   

  • 3-5 years leading a team  

  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, change and project management skills.  

  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships  

  • Ability to track and maintain multiple projects and deliverables  

  • Strong partnership and relationship development skills  

  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills  

  • Expert knowledge of program management principles  

  • Proven ability to excel and lead by example in a fast paced and continuously evolving environment  

  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication across a range of audiences  

  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity  

  • Ability to collect data, analyze, and summarize conclusions  

  • Travel expectation 25% -50%
