General Summary:
This is an extremely exciting role working in Haematology in the area of sickle cell disease and Beta Thalassemia on a Gene Editing Medicine Vertex will be launching in the UK.
The Marketing Senior Manager will support the delivery of the Commercial marketing strategy by overseeing development of HCP and/or patient and caregiver tactics, measuring those tactics for success and ensuring they are delivered to customers effectively. This role will also participate in the development of the annual brand plan to achieve business objectives.
The UK Senior Marketing Manager, Commercial will work cross functionally with the International and UK cross-functional colleagues to develop and execute a commercial strategy built on deep stakeholder insights.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Experienced in pharmaceutical marketing, with proven track record
- Ability to understand the target market at a high level.
- Understanding of regulatory rules and regulations
- Ability to understand all elements of brand strategy and role in executing that strategy
- Experience with brand planning
- Exhibits ownership and broad accountability for projects and internal assignments; understand when it is appropriate to flag issues to senior management.
- Ability to understand insights and the implications, and apply those insights to tactics, business problems, and opportunities.
- Proven experience in co-developing solutions with external stakeholders;
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Knowledge and Skills:
- Relevant marketing experience or related experience required with a proven track record of developing and delivering successful brand launch strategies and tactics in the UK.
- Hemoglobinopathies (sickle cell disease and beta thalassemia), cell and/or genetic therapy experience
- Skilled in leading and influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external scientific and commercial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, whilst effectively managing multiple initiatives that requiring team collaboration.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to develop creative, innovative solutions to complex business challenges.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Hands on approach, with a can-do attitude.
- Strong written communication skills, presentation delivery, and interpersonal skills to be effective in a team environment.
- A high level of ethics and integrity with a compliance mindset.
- Numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a close attention to detail.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, or science required
