  • Primary Key Responsibilities (Top 3-5 KRA)

  • Effectively liaising with the UK-based Investment Data Services Team and key internal and external stakeholders to collect and verify required data from appropriate sources, ensuring accurate and timely information is supplied to the business
  • Knowledge of terms and conditions of various asset classes (e.g. Fixed Income, Equities, Private, ETD & OTC Derivatives) and how they impact key analytics used by investment decision makers in order to support their queries
  • Understanding the different fund types that M&G manage (eg SICAVs, RAIFs, Seg Mandates) to support the fund data in core M&G systems
  • Knowledge of sustainability / ESG data sets relevant to Asset Management
  • Responding to all data queries from the business in a timely manner; investigating data issues and working with fellow Data Analysts and your manager to establish an appropriate resolution
  • Analysing large data sets to identify data quality issues that may need to be escalated to the business and implementing ongoing data quality controls to mitigate these issues going forward
  • Understanding the lineage of data published to stakeholders within the Investment Teams, ensuring the data is appropriately governed and understood. Running regular quality controls to ensure the completeness, validity, and accuracy of this data
  • Challenging current processes, driving change, proactively realising opportunities for improvements across Investment Data Services. Utilising VBA and SQL skills where applicable to help see these initiatives through to completion
  • Supporting the implementation of controls and procedures and documenting the same
  • Supporting the implementation of controls within M&G’s central Investment Data Platform
  • Ensuring data requirements are fully supported within all required systems

  • Implement appropriate systems, processes, controls and procedures as a result of Regulatory, Organisational and Strategic changes impacting the function.  
  • Identifying and mitigating risks 
  • Ensuring appropriate disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place 
  • To comply with regulatory requirements associated with all activities 
  • Handling Audit queries 
  • Daily monitoring of data quality 
  • Client Relationship management 
  • Training & development of the rest of the team ensuring adequate cover and cross training for key tasks.

    Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

    Knowledge & Skills (Must Have) :

    Domain Expertise:

  • Through understanding of Investment Business is mandatory
  • An understanding of the investment industry with good knowledge of instruments across various asset classes (e.g. Fixed Income, Equities, Private, ETD & OTC Derivatives)
  • Experience working with Asset Management sustainability data sets
  • Experience using BlackRock Aladdin is a significant plus
  • Technical Expertise:

  • Relevant technical certification on SQL and VB Script language
  • Through understanding of Bloomberg/ Reuters application usage
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc) skills
  • Microsoft Power BI Apps
  • Managerial Expertise:

  • People Management: Skills in recruiting, training, mentoring, and retaining talent. Ability to foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Performance Management: Setting clear performance metrics, providing regular feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Reporting and Presentation: Skills in preparing and presenting reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to convey insights and progress.

  • Magnitude of Impact:

  • Engage with key business stakeholders on a regular basis to understand their needs, involve them in joint planning and drive overall high stakeholder satisfaction with GIC performance
  • Manage team of a span of 15-20 people with 2-3 manager, build expertise and capability that can play a role beyond the GIC organization.
  • Responsible for leading and managing a team of investment data services and operations professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to team members, setting performance goals, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring the team operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement and constantly reinforce the value proposition of the GIC within the company through innovation and execution. Set global targets for annual improvements and drive efforts to achieve these targets (Eg: Lean, Automation, Analytics, etc.)
  • Oversee work migration from vendors and onsite BUs into the GIC organization
  • Strong drive and delivery, committed to achieving results and delivering on time
  • Strong analytical thinking and a critical evaluator of information/issues
  • End to end ownership of the processes and issue resolution
  • Challenging current processes, driving change, proactively realising opportunities for improvements across Investment Data Services.

  • Experience:

  • Working experience of 12 to 15 years in a BUY side Asset Management company
  • Experience in sustainability / ESG data used by Asset Management companies
  • Experience handling queries and providing resolution to issues identified
  • Provide data flows/ data dumps to various internal teams as per the requirement provided
  • Excellent partnership and stakeholder management skills as well as build strong relationships and work collaboratively with teams across the business
  • Experience of liaising, influencing and negotiating effectively with all internal and external parties and stakeholders
  • Educational Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree level in Finance/ Mathematics/ Economics
  • CFA Qualification will be an added advantage
  • FRM Certification will be desirable
  • Relevant IOC or Investment Management qualification / Certification would be desirable.
  • Technical certifications like SQL and VB
