Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Leading a team of Windows, Linux, and Network administrators to support the DISH global enterprise.
- Responsible for all employee management duties including hiring, development, retention, resource allocation, and performance management
- Providing oversight and accountability for all team functions to ensure expected results are delivered
- Work closely with other IT Teams and customers to help support daily operations and new project initiatives in an onshore-offshore environment.
- Manage vendor relationships for various software and/or services in a professional and assertive manner
- Understand the DISH business objectives and how those impact the team, and subsequently develop plans to properly align team efforts
- Synthesize highly technical information in a contextually aware manner in order to make proper judgements
- Foster productive and professional working relationships that helps create strong sense of team and positive momentum
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Engineering degree with 18 plus years of experience in managing high performing enterprise IT infrastructure management teams. Successful candidates will be technically hands on in Windows/ Linux/ Network administration & related tools and technologies, have experience in managing critical IT Infrastructure operation in 24x7 environment, and possess strong problem solving skills to solve production issues, a self-starter mindset with a proactive attitude towards customer delivery and leadership capabilities in high performing team management.
- Strong handson experience in managing Windows, Linux, and/or Network Administration. Familiarity with server virtualization within the VMware ecosystem. Experience in supporting hybrid on-prem/cloud environments.
- Demonstrated ability to create high-functioning teams and loyalty
- A strong ability to learn quickly and properly diagnose situations
- Willingness to take ownership and drive results by engaging all available resources, including the Subject Matter Experts and Architects
- Strong attention to detail, ability to organize and prioritize
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic work environment that challenges status quo and expects results
- Ability to bring clarity and focus to ambiguous and challenging situations
- Experience with adhering to a rigorous change management process as well as familiarity with the overall ITIL framework
- Experience with managing IT teams responsible for troubleshooting and resolving production impacting issues.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and methodical troubleshooting skills that help find and address root cause
- Can communicate technical issues clearly and can tailor communications for all levels of technical and non-technical audience
