As a Senior Manager, Infrastructure Capacity, you will lead capacity planning efforts for datacenter space, power, and infrastructure to support the rapid expansion of our cloud infrastructure. You will drive strategic planning, forecasting, and optimization initiatives to ensure efficient resource utilization while maintaining scalability and operational resilience. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical acumen, and leadership skills to align infrastructure capacity planning with business growth and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of capacity planners and analysts, providing mentorship and driving a culture of operational excellence
  • Oversee datacenter footprint strategy, ensuring efficient utilization of space, power, and cooling resources
  • Develop and execute capacity planning strategies for datacenter space, power, and infrastructure to support growth, hardware refresh cycles, new product architecture, and technology trends
  • Build and maintain complex capacity models for future datacenter space and power deployment planning that incorporate all physical capacity limits, ensuring all assumptions are understood, measured, modeled and communicated
  • Lead long-term datacenter planning and build-out strategies by evaluating datacenter infrastructure capabilities and constraints, providing strategic insights and recommendations on investments.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and engineering teams to inform decisions by analyzing operational trade-off impacts and capital spend
  • Partner with engineering and facilities teams to ensure power and cooling infrastructure is designed and deployed optimally by providing data-driven insights on capacity requirements
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for capacity utilization, efficiency, and availability.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and tooling teams to drive automation initiatives to improve capacity planning and operational efficiencies

Qualifications & SkillsRequired:

  • 12+ years of experience in datacenter capacity planning, infrastructure planning, or a related role.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience, driving infrastructure planning initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of datacenter power distribution (UPS, PDUs, redundancy levels), cooling systems, and space planning.
  • Understanding of server, storage, and networking hardware and their impact on datacenter resource utilization
  • Experience with capacity modeling, forecasting techniques, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python, or similar) and DCIM (Datacenter Infrastructure Management) tools.
  • Proven track record of optimizing datacenter resource utilization and cost efficiency
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to make recommendations in an ambiguous environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $190,000-225,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
