Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Global Operations, will play a key role in supporting Winrock’s global operations by reviewing and negotiating domestic and global leases, property and foreign workers compensation insurance, and corporate travel programs. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with experience in international operations and a strong understanding of compliance, vendor management, and risk mitigation. The successful candidate will streamline processes, ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements, and build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency across all regions.
While this role may be based anywhere in the contiguous United States, the candidates will be expected to work on eastern or central time. Candidates based in Little Rock, Arkansas will be given highest priority. Candidates must have experience with USAID rules and regulations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Insurance Management:
- Coordinate and oversee Winrock’s relationship with insurance brokers to ensure clear and consistent communication of organizational needs and risks.
- Review and process domestic and international insurance claims.
- Maintain insurance resources, including policy and procedure guidelines, checklists, and training materials.
- Partner with People and Culture and Risk & Compliance teams to ensure insurance coverage aligns with Winrock’s needs and external risks.
- Provide proposal support by reviewing insurance requirements and estimating costs.
- Provide monthly insurance reports to the accounting team for billing purposes.
- Complete insurance applications for annual renewal process.
Travel Management:
- Oversee the relationship with Winrock’s travel agency and travel security services to ensure they meet organizational needs and provide excellent customer service.
- Manage travel and security contracts, including renewals and communication of updates to staff.
- Provide support to Winrock staff regarding internal travel forms as well as address issues with the travel agency or the third-party travel booking platform.
- Provide standard monthly travel training to domestic staff and provide as needed training to field office staff.
- Maintain travel resources, including policy and procedure guidelines, checklists, and training materials.
Office Leases:
- Review and analyze office lease agreements, amendments, and renewals to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide feedback on lease terms and conditions with landlords to secure favorable terms for Winrock.
- Collect & maintain lease information in SharePoint database (e.g., renewals, expirations) for institutional office location tracking.
Operational Support:
- Provide backup support for Home Office and Project Field Office RFP/Q/PO reviews.
- Assist the Senior Director, Procurement, with general procurement support as needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, focus in international development, business administration, operations management, or related field preferred.
Experience: Strong knowledge of compliance requirements for international donors, with experience in establishing and monitoring operational controls in line with donor and organizational standards. USAID experience required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, international relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in global operations, insurance, or travel management, preferably in an international development or non-profit setting.
- Strong understanding of insurance policies and regulations, including rental, business, and travel insurance.
- Proven track record of ensuring compliance with federal and international regulations, specifically with USAID specific requirements, including reporting and procurement standards.
- Proven experience in vendor management and contract negotiations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Language: English, strong preference for any additional languages
Required Travel: Ability to travel internationally as required, up to 20%.
The salary range for this role is set between $100,000 and $120,000, with the majority of candidates typically landing within the midpoint of this range, there is an additional 10% contribution for a 403b annually and an excellent benefits package.
