Job Description
Join Takeda as a Senior Manager, GI Rare Analytics out of our Lexington, MA Office. As a member of the Gastroenterology Business Unit (GIBU), you will work closely with a cross-functional team to evaluate sales, marketing, and managed markets strategy (specialty channel strategy, payer coverage and reimbursement) within the Short-bowel Syndrome (SBS) market. In this role you will be a trusted resource within the GIBU SBS team focusing on marketing and sales effectiveness in institutional settings, SP channel, access and reimbursement analytics and insights. You will function as an internal partner and liaison between the GIBU SBS Business Insights team, and SBS Brand Marketing, Sales, and Managed Markets teams. You will be responsible for communicating requirements for each request, developing the project plan, and coordinating and preparing analysis that will be incorporated directly into the ongoing reporting, special projects, annual brand planning and other critical managed markets team decision processes. You will work with specialty pharmacy, patient level claims, account and HCP sales data to answer business questions related to the brand, marketing, and market access analytics. Adds new insights in looking at product coverage and formulary information and how it impacts the patient treatment paradigm.
How you will contribute:
- Operates independently, understands the complexities, and draws substantive conclusions from payer plan data in a medical benefit-based environment.
- Partners with the GI marketing and field sales teams to develop strategies and provide input into key strategic decisions. Delivers answers to key business questions around payer behavior and works closely with managed markets leadership to establish metrics and KPIs for managed markets initiatives.
- Develops and maintains reporting across institutions, plan level performance, specialty pharmacy channel and pricing/rebating strategies, working closely with marketing, market access, field and contracting and pricing team members, while adding strategic insights.
- Leads key market analytics projects to inform strategic and brand planning, forecasting, and market access projects.
- Leads the performance of detailed, comprehensive secondary market data analyses, including the development of a Marketing/Omni-channel Insights reporting environment.
- Leads initiatives that quantify the impact of Marketing and Sales strategies on revenue.
- Creates clear and concise reports, utilizing sophisticated data visualizations, for cross-functional team's needs.
- Ensures that appropriate analytical techniques are fully leveraged for any incoming analytics requests, which includes the design and development of advanced statistical analyses and Predictive Models.
- Works closely with data integrity and systems teams to ensure data quality and compliance and improve the quality of analytics.
- Evaluates, recommends and communicates appropriate models/techniques and industry knowledge to other team members.
- Creates and deploys tools and resources to continuously improve our understanding of the market and to drive business goals.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- BA or BS in an analytical field such as statistics, operations research, management science, industrial engineering, economics, math, etc. and 6+ years quantitative analytical or forecasting experience in pharmaceutical analytics/sales/managed markets; or advanced degree in an analytical field such as statistics, management science, economics, etc. and 4+ years quantitative analytical or forecasting experience in pharmaceutical analytics/sales/managed markets required.
- Complete understanding and application of quantitative principles, concepts, practices, and standards surrounding the use and manipulation of secondary market data sources.
- The ability to meaningfully portray and effectively communicate complex quantitative data in an easy-to-understand format is required.
- Must have in-depth knowledge and experience in a complex franchise-specific market.
- Proven experience with global Sales and Marketing organizations and experience with pharmaceutical data sources e.g., Komodo, IQVIA, SHA and chart audits are required.
- Knowledge of coding techniques in Python, R, SQL, SAS, and advanced Excel/PPT skills required.
- Comfort with reporting production and automation techniques.
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Qlikview or similar
- Familiarity with payer data in the retail space and a willingness to learn how to apply this knowledge in a medical benefit payer landscape
- Familiarity with patient journey, line of therapy and source of business analytics

U.S. Base Salary Range:
133,000.00 - 209,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
