Job Summary
This role provides strategic leadership to a team of Financial Educators, setting direction, driving performance, and enhancing the member journey. It involves collaborating with internal partners, supporting relationship-building with members, Ministry Partners, and Plan Sponsors, and ensuring accountability through performance metrics. Key responsibilities include managing practice discipline, guiding complex member interactions, educating on products, overseeing talent development, managing account transitions, and driving continuous improvement through change management.
What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership: Establish and articulate the strategic direction and high-level expectations for the business area to senior associates, leveraging data-driven insights and advanced analytics.

Annual Business Planning: Lead the annual business planning process to strategically identify and prioritize the most significant opportunities to enhance the member journey. Utilize predictive modeling and performance metrics to set high-level expectations for the team, drive execution, and monitor performance accordingly.

Executive Collaboration: Collaborate with key internal partners such as relationship management, compliance, marketing, legal, wealth management. Collaborate with key internal partners and senior relationship managers to optimize referrals, design and deploy plan sponsor engagement strategies, and enhance outcomes for ministry partners and members.

Performance Metrics: Partner with senior business area leadership and key partners to establish metrics, support targets, and monitor associate performance using business intelligence tools and dashboards.

Accountability: Understand and hold teams accountable to key performance indicators; provide feedback and coaching to influence outcomes, utilizing performance management software.

Risk Management: Serve as the first line of defense by proactively identifying potential risk and compliance issues and collaborating with appropriate partners to address them. Utilize risk assessment tools and compliance management systems.

Member Interaction: Provide guidance and support in handling complex member interactions or resolving escalated complaints or disputes, leveraging customer service management software.

Education and Coaching: Educate and coach Financial Educators on GuideStone’s products and solutions, including knowledge of tax and investment strategies for various plans such as 403(b)(9), 403(b)(7), and ERISA. Utilize e-learning platforms and knowledge management systems.

Team Development & Support: Coach and support Financial Educators in strengthening member, Ministry Partner, and Plan Sponsor relationships. Lead talent management, including hiring, performance coaching, and engagement. Identify training needs and connect team members with targeted development resources to accelerate growth.

Practice Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of disciplined practice management, continuous improvement, and change readiness. Lead business transformation using structured change management frameworks and Lean Six Sigma principles. Streamline meeting planning, follow-up, CRM usage, and data tracking to ensure consistent performance and scalable processes.

Responsible for full scope of supervision including reviewing performance of assigned staff. Carry out assigned supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
What You'll Need

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; Master’s degree preferred

10+ years of relevant retirement industry experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role

Professional certifications such as CRPC, CFP, or CEBS preferred
-
Series 6, 26, and 63 licenses—or the ability to obtain them within 90 days
-
Familiarity with the Southern Baptist Convention and affiliated entities preferred
-
Strong knowledge of 403(b) planning for ministers and churches, including tax, housing allowance, and compliance considerations

Broad business acumen in marketing, relationship management, and customer service

Excellent communication, coaching, and team development skills
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and webinar tools
-
Willingness to travel up to 30% annually
