About the Role
We are seeking an energetic technical leader to manage a growing team of analysts responsible for building the data models, pipelines, and reports that power decision-making across Instacart’s Finance and Accounting organization.
In this role you’ll partner closely with technical and non-technical teams alike, to passionately serve the reporting needs of the business, ensuring data products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Additionally, you will spearhead initiatives to support regulatory compliance, collaborate closely with external auditors, and provide seamless support to stakeholders during month-end close.

The FinSys Analytics Team operates at the nexus of financial systems, data management, and strategy. Our mission is to empower Instacart's Finance and Accounting organization by providing accurate, actionable, and high value data solutions. By blending business acumen with technical expertise, we build and maintain data products that streamline financial reporting, facilitate deep analysis, and support strategic decision-making.
About the Job
- Design Scalable Financial Data Solutions – Develop robust data models, pipelines, and reporting systems that drive informed decision-making across teams.
- Ensure Compliance & Governance – Embed “compliance by design” principles to uphold SOX standards, streamline audits, and enforce data governance.
- Champion Data Integrity – Establish rigorous validation and monitoring frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability in financial data.
- Lead & Develop Talent – Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Engineering to align data strategies with business objectives and operational needs.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, or business analytics
- 5+ years managing technical teams
- Strong SQL and data engineering fundamentals, including experience with Snowflake, dbt, and BI tooling (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience managing large, complex data pipelines, ensuring data quality, compliance, and traceability
- Experience enforcing data governance policies, including access controls, change management, and lifecycle management
- Deep expertise with financial data models, accounting data structure, and business systems (e.g., Oracle, Adaptive, Workday, Salesforce)
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to align technical and non-technical teams
- Proven leadership experience in high-growth, fast-pasted environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Public company experience
- Experience working at a high-growth tech company
- Experience developing self-serve financial data platforms
- Strong understanding of SOX compliance and public-company environments
