JR70472 Sr. Manager, Financial Accounting (AP)
- Manage the integration of the Accounts Payable function into the Shared Services structure, ensuring smooth transition of tasks from regional teams (e.g., Penang) into a centralized process.
- Lead the strategy and execution of accounts payable operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments within the Shared Service environment.
- Oversee the timely and accurate closure of accounts payable records for global entities, ensuring adherence to company policies and alignment with US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Ensure proper internal controls for the accounts payable function are in place and that the team complies with GAAP, local regulations, and tax reporting requirements in all jurisdictions.
- Oversee SOX compliance within Accounts Payable, ensuring that all processes and controls are well-documented and maintained, providing recommendations for any necessary improvements or updates.
- Regularly assess and benchmark accounts payable processes against industry best practices to identify and implement improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead initiatives to improve, automate, and standardize accounts payable processes, reducing manual effort and improving overall efficiency.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments to address and resolve challenges related to accounts payable processes, providing recommendations for improvements where necessary.
- Lead and develop the Accounts Payable team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and ensuring the team's growth in skills and capabilities.
- Handle special projects and assignments related to accounts payable and finance as required by senior management.
Key Skills/Competencies:
- Strong background in managing Accounts Payable functions in a large organization, with a focus on process optimization, automation, and efficiency.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting standards as they relate to accounts payable and financial reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders and influence outcomes effectively.
- Demonstrated experience driving automation, process improvement, and standardization within accounts payable and financial operations.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
- Able to lead the team through changes, including systems upgrades, new process implementations, and shifts in organizational priorities.
- Strong experience with SAP ERP systems and other automation tools (e.g., RPA, LEAN) to improve accounts payable processes.
Education & Specific Experience Required:
- CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification is required.
- A Master's degree in Business Administration is a plus.
- >15 years of experience in finance/accounting: Extensive experience in finance, accounting, and reporting, particularly in accounts payable or general accounting.
- >12 years in leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience, particularly in managing teams and processes within a matrix organization.
- >10 years in automation projects: Proven experience leading accounts payable automation initiatives, such as RPA, LEAN, or other process improvement methodologies.
- >10 years with SAP ERP systems: In-depth experience with SAP ERP systems, particularly in automating accounts payable processes.
