Job Description

Accounts Payable Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.

Management of Offshore Team

  • Lead and collaborate with the offshore accounting team to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of accounting tasks.
  • Provide guidance, set clear expectations, and monitor performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) Reconciliation

  • Ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation of GRNI balances.
  • Collaborate with procurement and AP teams to resolve discrepancies.

Fixed Assets Accounting

  • Manage the accounting lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of asset records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Strategic Investments Accounting

  • Support the accounting for strategic investments, including acquisition, valuation, and reporting.
  • Ensure proper classification and alignment with our investment strategy.

Intercompany Accounting

  • Oversee intercompany transactions, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with global entities to improve intercompany processes and resolve discrepancies.

Lease Accounting

  • Manage accounting for leases in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842 or IFRS 16).
  • Ensure proper recording, reconciliation, and reporting of lease obligations.

Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Ensure all accounting activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits, providing required documentation and addressing audit findings.

Process Improvement and Automation

  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, leveraging technology and automation.
  • Drive implementation of best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications/ Required

Knowledge/ Experience and Skills:

Knowledge

  • Experience and proven success in establishing accounting policies.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices, including technical documentation, accounting processes, month end closing and reporting
  • Strong communication skills required; must have the ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage and prioritize workload
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and have an appetite for change
  • Experience working with senior level clients and vendors; able to evaluate situations from multiple angles and sensitive to stakeholders needs while maintaining focus on bring the best value to our organization
  • Understands key financial and operational controls needed in a procurement and accounting organization in the Pharmaceutical industry.

Skills and Experience

Minimum of 8+ years of Accounting experience including the ability to strategize and lead.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plus
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
  • Ability to lead and influence a team.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and relevant accounting standards.
  • Experience managing offshore teams and working in a global environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or relevant technical expertise. Advanced degree (MBA/MS) preferred.
