Striim is used by enterprise companies to monitor events across any environment, build applications that drive digital transformation, and leverage true real-time analytics to provide a superior experience to their customers. At our company, we believe and expect all of our employees to operate as one with unlimited potential and dignity.

Description

Striim is hiring a Senior Manager of Field Technology who will provide both technical leadership and hands-on implementation expertise while engaging with customers throughout the life cycle of the Striim Platform. This role involves leading the customer journey, including new customer onboarding, solution architecture strategy, and technical enablement.

In addition to customer-focused responsibilities, the Senior Manager will:

  • Hire, deploy, and manage a team of Field Engineers and subcontracted employees, ensuring alignment with business needs and customer project demands.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction for the team, driving high performance and operational excellence.
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring that all engineers—full-time and subcontracted—are effectively allocated, delivering high-quality solutions, and meeting customer expectations.
  • Serve as the primary interface for both internal and external team members, ensuring seamless collaboration and successful project outcomes.

Unlike purely managerial roles, this position requires a hands-on leader who will:

  • Design, develop, and implement customer solutions, including coding, scripting, and integration work.
  • Write and debug code in SQL, Java, Python, and shell scripting while ensuring best practices for scalability and performance.
  • Lead technical troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts across cloud infrastructure, databases, and enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will balance hands-on technical execution, team leadership, and strategic guidance to drive success.

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement and Solution Delivery

  • Onboard new customers, delivering learning, solution strategy, technical enablement, and implementation guidance during deployment.
  • Lead customer technical teams through development phases, implementing best practices and solving enterprise adoption challenges.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring customers achieve operational excellence and unlock full value from the Striim Platform.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to identify opportunities for expansion, demonstrating additional use cases and value-driven solutions that drive upsell and broader adoption of the Striim Platform
  • Ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales stage to post-sales production deployments.

Hands-On Technical Leadership and Implementation

  • Actively participate in customer Striim implementations, including designing, coding, integrating, and debugging software solutions.
  • Write and maintain code in SQL, Java, Python, and shell scripting for enterprise integrations and automation.
  • Configure and optimize on-prem or cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deploy data pipelines.
  • Work with SQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB) to develop queries, optimize performance, and integrate applications.
  • Implement and troubleshoot messaging systems (Kafka, JMS) and enterprise data platforms.
  • Debug and resolve critical technical issues, ensuring high system reliability and performance.

Team Leadership and Resource Management

  • Hire, manage, and mentor a team of Field Engineers and subcontracted employees, ensuring their  technical growth and alignment with customer projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance, ensuring best practices in solution architecture and coding.
  • Allocate and oversee engineering resources across multiple customer engagements, balancing internal and subcontracted employees.
  • Drive knowledge sharing and process improvements, fostering a high-performance technical team culture.

 Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles (e.g., Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, Professional Services, Customer Success Engineer).
  • 5+ years of technical team management experience, including hiring, mentoring, and performance oversight.
  • Strong expertise in SQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB) and programming languages (Java, Python, Shell scripting).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and data services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake, Google BigQuery or Databricks.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data environments, mission-critical IT systems, and messaging systems (Kafka, JMS).
  • Experience managing distributed teams, including subcontracted employees, is a strong plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or Information System.

This role is perfect for a hands-on technical leader who thrives at the intersection of customer engagement, team leadership, and enterprise technology innovation. If you’re looking to blend hands-on development with leadership, we’d love to hear from you!

What We Do

The Striim platform is an end-to-end streaming data integration and operational intelligence solution enabling continuous query/processing and streaming analytics. With Striim, you can get to know your data – and sort out what’s important – the instant it’s born.

Striim specializes in integration from a wide variety of data sources – transaction/change data, events, log files, application and IoT sensor data – and real-time correlation across multiple streams.

Add structure, logic and rules to streaming data. Define time windows for analysis. Detect outliers, visualize events of interest, and trigger alerts and automated workflows – all within milliseconds.

Striim is the only non-intrusive, enterprise-strength offering that combines streaming integration and intelligence in a single platform.
