  • Employee Relations:
    • Develop and implement programs to promote employee engagement, morale and a positive workplace culture
    • Investigate, understand and apply industry best practices to Caliber employee relations strategies and processes
    • Identify practice and process opportunities, drive the development of improvements, and implement improvements
    • Act as Employee Relations SME for all Caliber internal partnerships including, but not limited to Caliber executive leadership, legal, and Operations senior leadership.
    • As required, and under the direction Caliber Legal leadership, work with external counsel in the furtherance of cases requiring additional review and/or follow up.
    • Provide expert advice and counsel to employees and managers on a variety of work-related issues including performance management, conflict resolution, harassment and discrimination.
    • Collaborate with Employee Relations Specialists, managers and HR Business Partners to develop, document and follow up on corrective action plans to ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations
    • Mediate and facilitate resolution of conflicts between teammates and managers.
    • Investigate allegations of discrimination, harassment, workplace misconduct and performance deficiencies
    • Conduct confidential interviews with employees and managers to gather information and understand concerns.
    • Escalate teammate relations events and concerns in accordance with company policy and guidance.
    • Maintain complete, accurate and confidential documentation of employee relations issues and investigations using Company approved processes, tools and templates.
    • Utilize reports and employee relations team communications to Identify and escalate systemic employee relations topics
  • Policy and Compliance:
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
    • Create and/or revise HR policies in coordination with HR Business Partners/Legal and communicate those to employees and managers.
    • In collaboration with HR Business Partners, develop and deploy training on HR topics, such as harassment, discrimination, and workplace safety.
    • Based on reporting, team recommendations, and employee relations case data, make recommendations for policy changes and policy/process improvements
    • Investigate, understand, and account for changes in compliance requirements and legal standards for conducting investigations and addressing employee relations concerns.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Lead and mentor team of Employee Relations Specialists to include hiring, coaching, process understanding and adherence as well as thorough documentation of employee relations matters. The Employee Relations Manager will evaluate performance and make merit pay and/or career advancement recommendations for individual team members.
    • Maintain effective communication with employees, managers, and other stakeholders on HR matters.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
    • Act as a liaison between employees and management, facilitating open communication and resolving conflict effectively.
    • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Additional Duties:
    • Prepare and deliver reports/presentations on employee relations metrics, trends and recommendations.
    • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in employee relations.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in employee relations or a similar HR role.
  • 2 years HR leadership experience providing mentorship and coaching
  • Preferred at least 2 years managing HR Professionals
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability to investigate employee relations matters objectively and thoroughly
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience managing a team of at least 2 employee relations specialists
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of products, top tier HR systems and case management tools
