The Position
The Senior Manager - Data Partner is responsible for partnering with various business units to drive the effective use of data to address key business problems and opportunities. This role acts as a trusted advisor to the respective teams, supported by the broader Enterprise Data Strategy and Analytics Enablement department. The Senior Manager is responsible for partnering with strategic stakeholders to define data strategy, support key analytics and reporting initiatives, define solutions to meet business needs, manage data management resources, and oversee project delivery efforts where applicable.
The Senior Manager will develop and prioritize the roadmap of key data initiatives across the business units, advancing data governance standards and best practices within the organization. This role involves collaboration with multiple internal cross-functional teams locally and globally, as well as managing relationships with external data vendors to support business objectives.
Relationships
This role reports to the Director - Data Strategy & Analytics Enablement and is accountable for actively participating in multiple internal cross-functional teams locally and globally. The senior manager will need to effectively manage multiple stakeholders, and the associated activities related to prioritized initiatives. External relationships are with multiple data vendors in support of business objectives for cross-functional stakeholders.
Essential Functions
- Collaborating with business units to gain insights into core business and analytical challenges and identifying data-driven solutions. This includes, but is not limited to, working with Therapeutic Area Sales & Marketing, Market Access, Patient Support Services, Enterprise Insights, and Global Marketing
- Supporting commercialization efforts by defining data strategies to support data-driven decision-making from opportunity identification to product launch and execution
- Defining key projects, driving prioritization, and managing the roadmap of collaborative data partnership projects
- Providing data governance, data management, and consultancy support for long-term strategic initiatives, including enterprise strategy, digitalization strategy, new product areas, and new market areas
- Leading the acquisition and integration of identified data assets to support prioritized projects and answer business questions
- Ensuring organizational best practices, standard toolsets, and training are embedded within the business units
- Implementing data strategy solutions and instilling data governance best practices
- Providing data management support to the broader department and on specific prioritized projects
- Defining near and long-term data and analytics needs for supported departments and enabling data and capabilities
- Ensuring cross-organizational utilization of data and analytic best practices and alignment to defined policies
- Driving alignment of customer data across departments to support a 360-degree view of customers
- Leading steering committees around prioritized projects and coordinating activities between business and technology stakeholders
- Advising stakeholders on data policies, processes, and standards, and ensuring any data breaches are appropriately addressed
- Managing communication on data change management and activities
- Providing strategic and tactical direction to stakeholders in supported departments
- Upholding data quality standards for all incoming and outgoing data deliverables via monitoring and troubleshooting data issues
- Identifying, evaluating, and recommending new data sources to drive outcomes
- Partnering with business units to develop an understanding of core business and analytical problems, and identifying data-driven solutions

Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Business Administration, or related field required. Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 5+ years related experience in related data or analytics functions in the pharmaceutical industry required
- Minimum 5+ years related project management experience in the pharmaceutical or similar field required
- Preferred experience with pharmaceutical data, including but not limited to IQVIA Xponent, Xponent Plan Track, DDD, LAAD, or similar industry data offerings
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of major pharmaceutical patient data sources required
- Proficiency in analytics tools/systems, such as Tableau, Power BI and Qlik preferred
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization
- Strong analytic skills required
- Requires an expanded understanding of the core issues surrounding data, including the patient data privacy landscape
- Excellent communication skills
