Senior Manager, Cyber Defence Cloud - AI Use Cases and Tool Development

The Senior Manager, Cyber Defence Cloud AI & Emerging Security, work closely with cybersecurity professionals specialising in AI-driven use cases and tool development. This role requires extensive technical expertise in cloud security and AI/ML, combined with strong liaison capabilities to collaborate effectively with other Cyber Defence teams such as Cyber Attack Analysis, Cyber Attack Response, and Cyber Detection.
We design and build exciting new defensive security capabilities to enable CommBank’s best-of-breed blue teaming activities, and you will be working closely with some of the best incident responders in the country.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Incident Responder Cloud Security, you will deep dive into complex technical problems using your creativity and reasoning. Think like an experienced defender to find critical detection and response gaps in our security capability. Build sophisticated defensive security capabilities leveraging AI to bridge these gaps.
Key Responsibilities:

AI Use Case Development:

Design, implement, and maintain AI/ML models to detect and respond to cybersecurity threats.

Collaborate with data scientists and cybersecurity experts to develop innovative AI use cases.

Continuously improve AI models based on threat intelligence and incident response feedback.

Technical Expertise:

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AI/ML applications for cybersecurity with a focus on cloud & SaaS.

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced AI/ML models for threat detection and response.

Undertake specialist AI security research (focusing on defensive capabilities and complex threat detection evaluation activities.

Ensure the integration and optimisation of AI-driven tools within the existing cybersecurity infrastructure.

Liaison and Collaboration:

Act as the primary liaison between the Cyber Defence Cloud team and other Cyber Defence teams, including Cyber Attack Analysis, Cyber Attack Response, and Cyber Detection to facilitate effective collaboration across teams to enhance threat detection, analysis, and response capabilities.

Represent the Cyber Defence Operations team in internal and external forums, sharing insights and best practices.

Incident Response and Threat Analysis:

Provide expert guidance during security incidents, leveraging AI-driven tools for rapid threat analysis and response and collaborate with the incident response team to enhance detection and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

Relevant Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security Specialty )

We are interested in people who have:

Extensive experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on cloud environments and AI/ML applications.

Worked with either AWS or Azure and have experience/exposure to creating AI resources/models

Demonstrated experience in liaison roles, facilitating collaboration across multiple teams.

Deep technical expertise in cloud security principles and best practices.

Advanced proficiency in AI/ML frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.

Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive cross-functional initiatives.
