This team forms part of the Group Risk Management function here at CommBank and supports the Group Chief Risk Officer (GCRO) and Business Unit/Support Unit Chief Risk Officers to execute the outcomes of Risk Management in the most effective way for the organisation. As Senior Manager Conduct & Risk Culture, you’ll be part of the Conduct & Risk Culture Chapter flowing to work within the Conduct, Culture and Accountability Centre of Excellence within the Group’s Compliance function, interfacing with BU/SU Line 1 and 2 teams as well as with the Group HR function to ensure alignment of risk culture initiatives to broader organisational culture.

As part of Group Compliance, the Conduct, Culture and Accountability CoE is responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring frameworks which enable consistency across the Group and provide an operating environment to work within and meet our customer, community and regulatory expectations and requirements.
Your day could look like but not limited to:
- Participating in developing, implementing and overseeing effectiveness of the Group’s Conduct Risk and Risk Culture strategy, frameworks and tools including:
- Design and maintain the Group’s Risk Culture Framework and maturity matrix;
- Conduct Risk Culture Deep dive assessments in priority business areas;
- Maintain a robust methodology for annual BU/SU Risk Culture self-reflection;
- Advice and oversight of BU/SU risk culture plans and activities emanating from any risk culture assessments, and independently evaluate the effectiveness of their risk culture initiatives;
- Facilitate business insights into risk culture through the facilitation of risk assessments, including but not limited to our annual “YourVoice” assessment for risk culture (survey, focus groups and interviews);
- Design and maintain the Group’s Conduct Risk Framework, including Identify emerging areas of conduct risk and embed into Conduct Risk Framework;
- Maintain Conduct Risk Steward Guides (RSGs) - Product Design, Distribution, Financial Hardship, Market Integrity and Anti-Competitive Practices;
- Monitor the Group’s Conduct Risk profile and Conduct Risk Framework effectiveness;
- Design and conduct regular monitoring of Conduct Risk key risk indicators;
- Undertake analysis to generate insights and prepare reports for Senior Leaders, ELT and Board;
- Providing a ‘bigger picture’ as to how Conduct Risk activities support the business in achieving its strategy;
- Undertake ad hoc analysis, projects and tasks as required;
- Provide support for regulatory initiatives and requests.
What successful candidates will look like?

Ideally you will bring experience with knowledge of risk and compliance, gained within financial services. You will also be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management and critical thinking capabilities, with the ability to apply judgment to achieve pragmatic outcomes.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
- Tertiary qualification in the relevant discipline;
- Being curious and learning orientated to explore new ideas and methodologies and influence the way conduct risk and culture are managed;
- Having an adaptive mindset to continue to solve challenges and innovate;
- Demonstrable experience in the field of risk management, with a focus non-financial risk management and/or compliance;
- Experience in use of Data and analytics to support diagnostics and drive insights;
- Sound stakeholder management and influencing skills, ability to build good rapport;
- Strong written and oral communication and commercial acumen to make sound commercial decisions and solve business problems.
