As a Senior Manager, Brand Insights, you will play a critical role in advancing drug development by supporting the commercial insights needs for inline brands and early development assets. You will be part of a high performing team that provides actionable, innovative insights to address key business questions & opportunities. We ask that you have the skills to work independently with limited supervision, while working across a complex matrix environment that includes areas in marketing, sales, sales operations, senior leadership among others.

You will be responsible for the design, execution, and management of multiple market research engagements. Also, the Senior Manager will commission and partner with MR agencies for primary and secondary research in the US and international markets. You will be part of the Commercial Strategy & Insights organization and work directly with the brand team.

This position is based in Princeton, New Jersey. Otsuka maintains a hybrid work policy and travel is expected 20% of the time based on business needs.

Job Description:

  • Be a strategic partner to the commercial teams to lead the design and delivery of high quality, applicable business insights by conducting market research projects to support pipeline, prelaunch, and inline products.
  • Lead and conduct appropriate research and insights using innovative approaches to help shape the best insights.
  • Partner cross-functionally on different strategic and analytical projects to help drive optimal business decisions.
  • Lead the design and delivery of cross-functional secondary analytics reports including leadership KPI dashboards for monitoring market and brand performance.
  • Lead in-depth situation analyses and SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) of relevant disease areas to support the annual brand planning process.
  • Lead strategic insights workshops to convert data from primary or secondary market research projects to insights and to uncover Key Business Questions (KBQs) for each brand.
  • Manage the contracted vendor and contribute to and lead the development of important insights.
  • Co-lead annual forecasting cycle working with forecasting team.
  • Create and manage budgets for the brands.
  • Manage and help mentor/develop direct report.
  • Proactively take ownership of building internal relationships and learning the Otsuka culture.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, independent, and fast-paced environment.
  • Represent the CSI team in multiple business meetings.
  • Experience working with secondary market research data, including prescription data, patient-level data, sales data, and payer data.
  • Have a record of accomplishment of working in high performing teams that deliver exceptional results.
  • Have strong analytical, project management, fiscal management and decision-making skills.
  • Have a positive attitude and be adaptable to a dynamic type of environment without losing focus on business goals.
  • Proven experience and expertise integrating primary and secondary data into synthesized information and insights.
  • Experience working with third-party data such as IQVIA, Symphony Health, other claims and EMR data systems.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills and well versed in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interface with Executive Leadership with confidence and subject matter expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7 years of pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience with at least 1-2 years in a Data Analytics / Forecasting / Consulting position.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Post-graduate degree (Master’s/Ph.D.) in quantitative field highly desired (Public Health, Statistics, Management Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Accounting, Business, Marketing, Economics etc.).
