**On-site Requirements: Hybrid, 3 days per week in our Andover, MA office**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Accounting to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess public accounting experience with a strong background in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting. This role will oversee GL accounting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementing best practices to improve the efficiency of the closing cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the GL team, overseeing revenue, cost of goods sold, and payroll processes.
- Manage the month-end close process, including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensuring timely completion.
- Support the development and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures,
and internal controls for increased efficiency and compliance. - Prepare consolidated financial statements, including footnotes and related
analysis, ensuring full compliance with U.S. GAAP and other relevant regulatory requirements. - Strong analytical mindset to evaluate financial data, identify trends, and ensure
reasonableness. - Serve as the primary technical accounting resource by maintaining current and
working knowledge on the latest ASC guidance as well as drafting and/or review
technical accounting positions and policy memos, as necessary. - Encourage and demonstrate training and development of a high performing
accounting team to support their growth and professional development. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accurate and timely
recording of financial transactions. - Coordinate with external auditors to ensure proper audit procedures, compliance,
and resolution of any identified issues. - Support tax compliance for federal, state, and local jurisdictions across multiple
entities, ensuring timely filings and adherence to tax regulations. - Play a key role in the implementation of a new ERP system and finance applications to improve operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 6+ years of total experience (including public accounting and industry experience.
- Ability to understand technical accounting guidelines and manage operational
accounting - Strong system-driven mindset with the ability to automate manual process
- Experience working in Big 4 accounting firm is preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and ERP Systems
