ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Hiring Range: $130-160k base, plus bonus and stock potential

The Accounting Senior Manager is a highly strategic and experienced CPA with a proven track record in scaling accounting operations, financial reporting, and collaborating with key business units to drive process improvements.
 

This person will possess an ability to leverage their technical expertise, operational prowess, and leadership skills across our organization. The role is a blend of strategic vision and hands-on action. The Senior Manager will have the opportunity to influence company-wide financial strategies and policies while also driving efficiencies in day-to-day operations. 

Key Responsibilities to include:

  • Oversee and direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, ensuring alignment with broader company financial strategies.

  • Assist in building and leading a service-oriented team and related processes and internal controls to facilitate the flow of information, the timely processing of transactions, and the resolution of discrepancies.

  • Ensure robust internal controls, taking ownership of their design and efficiency to safeguard accounting processes and provide accurate financial reporting.

  • Assess and proactively mitigate financial risks while recommendations to improve operational efficiency.

  • Partner with operational leaders to drive company-wide financial process improvements and optimize internal controls.

  • Ensure appropriate documentation of internal controls including narratives, process flowcharts, control descriptions and risk control matrices. Identify areas of potential or real risks or gaps, develop and implement remediation plans and modifications to SOX documentation, workflows, and controls.

  • Identify and drive system enhancements, ensuring financial operations is scalable and efficient, including leading cross-functional implementation projects.

  • Foster collaboration between departments, improving the company’s financial literacy and cross-functional understanding of accounting processes.

  • Develop and mentor Accounting team members, ensuring continuous professional growth for the team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:

  • Ability to oversee complex accounting transactions and provide strategic insights for decision-making.

  • Ability to influence and drive decisions, with exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to a fast-paced culture, changes in the environment and shifts in priorities.

  • Expertise in planning, project management and analysis.

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills to present to senior executives and stakeholders.

  • Strong technical accounting expertise, including deep knowledge of US GAAP, and proficiency with GL systems

  • Experience in strategic financial planning and the ability to translate high-level company goals into actionable steps for the department.

  • Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated history of leading accounting teams through periods of growth and change.

  • Demonstrated experience scaling corporate accounting processes in fast-growing companies, ideally within the tech sector.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with competing priorities and changing business needs.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and effectively navigate competing priorities.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field is required.

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is required.

  • Experience with NetSuite ERP system required; experience in implementing new systems preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in accounting operations, financial reporting, and related areas with increasing leadership responsibilities.

  • 6+ years of experience managing/supervising staff within an Accounting group, with demonstrated success in upskilling employees.

  • Clearances as required by contract assignment.
