Job Description
Responsible for delivery of critical Intraday Risk equity derivative applications, some exclusively run out of India for global business. Multiple lines of business, complex products, and contemporary tech stack will have to be managed as part of the role.
As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking's Equities & Derivatives Tech team, your primary role will be to engineer a variety of derivative product applications that facilitate pre-trade activities. You will be a key technical figure with delivery responsibilities for the team based in India. Your duties will include planning, designing, stakeholder management, and execution for the applications. You will serve as the primary point of contact for technical considerations and will collaborate with various teams that depend on the application workflow.
Job responsibilities
- Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks.
- Help the team think of well-rounded technical solutions with good understanding of available contemporary solution options.
- Be accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
- Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
- Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary.
- Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team.
- Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Strong hands-on experience and recognized expert on Java and keen to understand and solve business related problems.
- Exposure to Cassandra, Kubernetes, contemporary messaging platforms, and AWS Cloud technology stack
- Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
- Pro-active, having intellectual rigor with Strong communication and team-working skills with exposure to Agile methodologies.
- Excellent Java programming skills, concurrency
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
- Experience of working in financial services, in a front or middle-office environment and understanding of equity derivatives.
